an update was botched during the middle of the week and since then quite a few items have had that notice popping up. I wouldnt worry about it, once they solve the bugs it will come back.

Wow, I would jump all over that if I could. No stores near me even stock them. Online only purchase for me.

If you have a Sears card; you can purchase things over the phone and pick up later.... BTW. Just to let you know; this may not be the case but towards the beginning of the year.... allot of stock #'s change as the refresh the tool line. Many times, the product remains the same but they change the packaging graphics and part #; that is also a good time to get good deals... as things go on clearance when the new stock comes in. This is also around the time they do inventory; usually feb/march time frame. Just a couple of things I learned when I worked there... :)

Looking through the Christmas catalog shows a 311 piece set on page 49 that may be replacing the 299 piece set. The additional 12 pieces are hex bit sockets. It's item number 27034.

Any links to this set? I can't seem to find it even with the item number.

Does anyone seem to know what happened to these? I stopped by Sears this evening, but the gentleman working the tool department didn't seem to know if they were not being offered any longer or not.

it was an online exclusive so asking B&M staff probably isnt the best route to go. Wouldnt worry too much, one form or another it will be back.

I've often noticed that when Sears 'runs out' of certain items their webpage refuses to show it. It was like that awhile back when I was purchasing some Gladiator cabinets. I had bought some earlier in the day online, then again later that night was perusing their site and the ones I had just bought were now no longer listed. Three days later, they were back up.

This might be a similar situation.

it still says temp unavailable but it is back for ordering. I just added a set to my cart.

As far as the 6 points go i believe the best you can do is the individual smaller sets. By the time i added it all together it would of made more sense for me to either wait for a sale on one of the mechanic kits that includes the sockets, or just buy the complete 299pc set. I did the latter.

The only other way to go is the to get the drive modules that include flat panel ratchets

There is a 1/2" but its 12pt for some reason.

I just bought the 145 pc. Easy-To-Read Mechanics Tool Set. All sockets are 6pt.

Sale price 161.99 with 5% off online promo = 153.89 +tax with free shipping for signing up for 30-day shipvantage trial

-Don't forget to cancel at least 5 days before your 30 days are up!

Now I don't have an excuse NOT to buy the things where the shipping cost was stopping me at sears.com. At least for the next 25 days.

I just ordered a set yesterday as well. Hopefully there's enough room in my toolbox.

How much did you get it for?

I attempted to order it yesterday myself. Priced at $300.83 with free shipping but plus tax. by the time I got around to checking out the price had gone back up and was going to cost me $370 with tax.

I carry this kit in my truck all the time. I've added a few combo wrenches, some pliers, and some screwdrivers. I love it!

I got mine on sale last Christmas for $99 if I remember right.
