Craftsman 3/4" drive ratchet

I'm clearing out some excess tools and uncovered a 3/4" drive Craftsman ratchet that's like brand new. It's the VM-44804 old style ratchet. I also have two Proto 3/4" drive ratchets. One like new and one well used. Two of the three are going on Craigslist. Trying to decide if I want to keep the Craftsman over the Proto. I'll likely always be able to get parts for the Proto but unsure on the Craftsman the way things are going. I'm leaning towards keeping the Craftsman anyway.
What are you guys thoughts?

Keep the Proto. You already said why it makes sense. You should be able to get decent money for any of them.

I've done some buying and selling here over the last year and I can tell you 100% without reservation, I would rather deal with fellow GJ'ers than sell through CL or Ebay anyday.

Believe me, I hate CL. Packaging and shipping is the drawback to posting on a global forum though. I might do that just to see how it goes.

Thoughts on the Craftsman over the Proto?
I cut my teeth with Craftsman tools as I'm sure many here did also. I'm kinda partial I guess. In reality, the times I'll need a 3/4" drive now that I'm retired are probably few so I'll just list them all. I'll keep the last one left.

Your probably right in general but the cheap, ahh excuse me, CL consumers around here think everything is on 50% off sale so it's hard to judge what tools will sell for. List it for $100 and they show up with $50 and expect to get it.
I'll just post em up and see where the go.

Keep the Proto if you use it, but also keep the Craftsman a few more years and sell it on eBay for crazy money like every other USA made Craftsman tool...

Funny, saw your CL ad and then saw this post on GJ. I hit the Austin Cl a lot to look for deals. Honestly , I do think you have it priced high. I bought one of the protos of Craigslist years ago and paid $35. It has some wear. I hope you get full price but my guess is you'll get talked down. Just not as much demand for 3/4" stuff.

CraigsList them. Only way to ship them would be in a large flat rate box for $20. Post all three on CL with two $25 higher than one. When one sells cut the price on the other. When it sells keep the last one.

Proto is an industrial brand known only to tradesmen; Craftsman is a household name and was the marquee brand for the nation's largest retailer. The aftermarket for Proto is unkind while vintage Craftsman hand tools command a lot of attention and go for absurd prices.

You would do well to list it on eBay rather than selling local. The fair market value for an NOS 44804 is ~$70-75. I would personally list it for $60-65 with the actual cost of USPS Priority shipping (~7lb packed) paid for by the buyer. If you need a shipping carton, just go to the post office and ask for a (free) 1098S tube or maybe a 1095. After fees, you would be looking at a ~$50 gain for a $60 listing.
