It has 315.11350 for a model number and a code of 6714. It also has an original 3 prong Craftsman cord. And yes I only payed $4 for it.

Here's a page out of a 1969 Craftsman catalog that appears to have the same drill.

I personally think that you found an awesome drill there. You got the best of both worlds- the neat, solid metal construction and the features of a 'modern' drill (variable speed, reversible) I can't tell you how many times I've been impressed with the looks of a metal body drill at the flea market only to leave it there because I don't need another 1/4" chuck, single speed, single direction drill. Awesome!

That's too sweet. $4 = major suckage! Around here all I find are old single speed 1/4" drills, still neat though. My old power tools (although all in good condition) are mostly conversation pieces, most often use my newer English made Makita 1/2" or my Makita 18v cordless.

Great...now I want one of these to match my 1960s Stanley aluminum body circular saw.
