Did Craftsman make anything smaller than 9mm on the 3/8-drive 6-point G-series deep sockets? The newer Craftsman has an 8mm - it's the CMMT99143. Not sure when they started making that size though.

On the flip side, did they make anything bigger than the 19mm for that set?

Thanks. I'll keep my eyes peeled for one then. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going on a wild goose chase. Can you tell me the number printed on it? That may make it easier for me to search for one.

Sorry if I'm mistaken, but aren't those all shallow sockets? I'm asking about the deep sockets.

I don't have one, but Armstrong did (part # 38-208), they also made 6 (38-206) and 7 mm (38-207) in 6 point 3/8 deep. If you are looking to fill holes, may be able to find some on e-bay. Not sure if this helps you or not.

That does help - thanks! I have plenty of Armstrong stuff. It never occurred to me to fill the gaps with their tools. Thanks for the part numbers.

I forgot the second part of your question. I don't have any craftsman sockets in 3/8 drive 6 point deep past 19mm. Armstrong make some larger than 19mm: 20mm (38-220), 21mm (38-221), 22mm (38-222), 23mm (38-223)and 26mm (38-226). These parts numbers came from a 2005 Danaher Corp, Armstrong catalog.

As far as I’m aware, Craftsman 3/8 deep 6 point sockets range from 9mm - 19mm, and the 12 points range from 9mm - 22mm, skipping 20mm.

I have complete sets of G1 and G2 sockets, never once ran into a deep 8mm. I always wondered why they didn’t make one.

My Craftsman set from many many years ago has 9mm to 19mm in a 3/8th 6pt deep socket.

I did add a 20mm 6pt deep from SK. It is almost a twin of a craftsman socket in height/size etc. I think OCD kicked in so I needed to buy a socket to fill the space.

I added a 12 point in 21mm and 22mm many years ago for some reason. Can not remember if 6pt was not available at the time. So now I go from 9mm to 22mm in deep 3/8th drive

*The post above mine spells it out. Glad I was not loosing my mind and that the world makes sense with Craftsman 3/8th deep sockets

Good luck

That's exactly what's driving me to do it too - it's bugging me that I don't have the same sizes for the deep sockets as I have for the shallow sockets.

Wow, SK has more of a range, don't they... I just came across a 26mm 6pt deep socket with 3/8" drive.
