Not a bad deal...I picked this one up at that price about six months ago. Most of the guys here probably are still drooling over the Craftsman Professional set that was similarly priced a few days ago.

i got the standards last christmas for 17?
and i got the pro's last week. 15 with points.

Both are good and have their place. I actually like how the standard red handles fit in my hand.

I do love these bars, but beware, another member had pictures showing that 'some' of the newer bars and sets are Chinese made. If you are willing to take the risk, go for it, but I am going to just order any new bars I need straight from Wilde (the OEM of the US made Craftsman bars).

And I am kicking myself for not getting those Pro bars last week....

Not a single report to date that I am aware of that the "3 piece sets" have been seen coming from China. The pictures of the newer China bar was not a set, it was an individual bar.

So I think you are safe getting these for now and in the near future, and them being made in the USA. But if you want them, now is the time when they are half price and made in the USA.

Does anyone know if it is Wilde that is making these offshore for Craftsman? Or is it that Sears is pulling a "Bionic Wrench" type thing where they copy it and send it offshore, then cancel the contract with Wilde for new orders?

How often and where do you guys typically use pry bars? They seem like kind of a rough tool to me :dunno:

I am heading to sears tomorrow, trying to decide if I would actually use them or not.

Don't think, buy.

I use them all the time. More recently I have used them to change tires on 2 ATVs. Anything that is stuck on (and I know that will come off with a little leverage), I use them on. I used one last night to pop a corroded shift linkage out of the shift lever. The other day to remove a corroded fitting off a sand blaster I am refurbishing.

Pry bars are one of those tools that you can't think of a use for until you actually need them. Buy them, you will use them. Plus, can you really go wrong for $20?

Got these (USA made) about 6 months ago as well. Really hate that I missed the striking set a few days ago - that's what I get for letting a day go by without getting my GJ fix!!!!!!

I was at Sears today and this price is also the "in store" price. I picked up the last two sets in N. Attleborough, MA Sears.

FWIW, the register drone seemed to think they were clearing out the last of the USA stock . . . but they rarely know what's going on anyway.

Sad, but I wouldn't doubt it. Look at the way everything else is going. My local mall attached store has almost nothing USA made except for individual sockets and other random items. I think it is a pretty high volume store though.

I have a bad feeling in a year craftsman will be 100% china
