Picked up my second set today so I don't have to keep lugging them between work and home 
LOL... honestly, i haven't seen a real serious review of these pry bars, especially comparing them to something else. mostly just see individual posts that say "they are awesome!" which is about as useful as the pass/fail postings for the harbor freight tools thread..
Well even without using anything else, they get the job done, seem well constructed and feel great. They don't seem like they are going to break any time soon. Are there better pry-bars out there, maybe... But based on these I doubt I would be convinced they are worth spending the extra money on, because they couldn't be that much better.
While comparisons are nice, the words of people who have used lots of tools (both good and bad) should hold some weight

I just got a check from Sears for 39.13, I guess complaining does work.
However, I really don't care about the check...keep your money...just stop treating your customers like sh!t. I feel like deep down a lot of us really want to "like" Sears. There is something nostalgic about Craftsman tools to me and I am secretly rooting for them to return to their old ways of being American made. It seems obvious that they have decided to save money by making cheap tools and providing horrible service, then they just cut a check or gift card to the minority who have an issue.

I cannot compare them to anything else because I have no desire to get anything else.
I do have a 52" Mayhew and I will probably get an 8" Mayhew or Snap On, if I could get the Cman in these sizes I would.

You don't even have to use them, just pick one up and you can feel the quality. I have a set of HF bars as well and they are OK, never broke one, but you can tell which one is built better and feels better.
i've had the snap on striking prybars and the harbor freight set. the snap on prybars are very rigid and won't bend if i put nearly all of my weight on them. of course the fit and finish is top notch as usual and i would expect them to last forever. the harbor freight prybars are very flexible and bend with hardly any pressure. they are the shittiest you can find in both form and function. using them on suspension components is sketchy because you are waiting for them to snap (instead of bend). of course you can buy like 20 sets of HF prybars for the price of one set of SO prybars but this is a direct reflection of their quality. i'm hoping these craftsman prybars are a happy medium.

I have a set of these already, but have been in the situation where I have needed 2 of the same length bars, so I ordered another set...as well as the matching gasket scrapers and professional hook set. A good deal IMO.

Just picked up a set of these from Sears. Now I can stop using that big old Powr-Kraft screwdriver of my dad's (though that's also what he always used it for, too).

The professional pry bars are certainly nicer. The handles are completely different. They have a metal end cap that contacts the bar inside the handle so you can strike them with a hammer without damaging the handle. I've never measured them, but the professional bars feel like the bars themselves are thicker. They are made by two different companies. The professional bars are made by Mayhew. The red handled bars are made by Wilde. For 20 bucks, the red handled bars are a deal, and they really do hold up to some abuse. The professional bars are nicer, but they are also more expensive too.

I must have led a sheltered life as I've never seen pry bars with handles. Growing up on a farm, this is what I'm accustomed to.

Give it a month or so and it will be back on sale for $19.99. Sears constantly rotates it in the sale circulation over the course of a year numerous times.
To many, that is a "Crow Bar" or "Wrecking Bar" used in warehouse and construction settings. Pry bars with handles are more geared to maintenance settings like vehicles and heavy equipment though either designed could be pressed into service in a pinch, both have their more tailored applications for their respective design.

If anyone does not want to wait for the sale price, go over to HJE and buy the Wilde bars. They are the same exact bars, except branded Wilde. All three end up being around $20 not including shipping.

I ordered the pry bars, gasket scrapers and the pro hook and pick set. I received the pry bars, but the hook and pick set and the gasket scrapers haven't even notified me of being shipped yet. Anyone else experience this delayed shipping from sears?

HJE charges an awful lot for shipping. I have paid over $15 for shipping on items I could have shipped for less than half that.
Their prices are only good if you're looking at spending a decent chunk of change with them to help eat the shipping charges.

I would have to drive 31 miles one way to get to the store. If it was more than
$2 I would use the help and Ill keep it in mind for later. Thank you. I hope they will be worth the $20. It was because of the helpful guys and gals(?) on here that I got them. The people on this site are awesome.
I recently got sears to price match by using that (usually) annoying chat window that always pops up. Took my email and order # and applied the price difference to my credit card a day or two later.
