This is a good set for the price, I bought a set for my uncle and myself. But it usually drops to 170/180 during the weekend.

I just got a couple off cl last week, great sets with 201 sockets. Every piece in mine were all stamped USA except the ratcheting wrenches.

Most likely the sockets will be USA and the ratcheting wrenches will be China.

But it's always a **** shoot with Sears on the sets now. The good news is you can do a store pickup, then inspect the tools, if they are all China then walk over to the nearest register and return them.

That's what I always do, and give the reason for the return as "made in China". If enough people do that, maybe Sears will get the message. Sadly, I fear that most people don't care about country of origin anymore, so my reason for the return is probably falling on deaf ears.

I like that idea. I think the next time I place an order that may or may not be usa made, I may do that.

I picked up a set at a local Sears store today. The wrenches were made in china. All the sockets were still made in the USA. The box look like it had been sitting on the shelf for awhile though. Still looks like a very good deal.

Just a data point, I got this set shipped to my door and CA tax included for around $165 sometime within the past year and half. I didn't need it (heck I still haven't opened it), but I could not pass it up.

So, a silly question. In order to get this price I need to buy online, then pickup in store? I'm guessing if I go to the store I will pay the full price?

Thanks in advance

The most recent stock of these is now 100% made in china. USA sets are still around, but fresh inventory is from the boat.

Jeepman1- Store price should be the same and if its not, they will usually price match.

Sears hardware in Parma oh has a few USA sets(ratchet wrenches china) check your local sears hardware if you have one. Seems inventory turns less there and they have a lot more USA then the mall stores.

I suppose you could pre-scout the Floor Stock for USA Made sets, then order online at the store and insure you get one of the USA Made sets.

At $199 I would just buy whatever they send to you. That's a good price for US or Chicom Craftsman. I might buy one myself. I wonder how long the price will be like this?

It is priced $199 or cheaper quite often throughout the year.

which sears in Michigan still have the usa made ones?

Traverse City still does. Well the mixed sets with mostly USA. They have china ones as well. If the store is near you and you go don't go to the main display look near the other mechanics sets for the beaten up looking boxes. They had four of them earlier today. But always check the tag. the store was actually busy so who knows.

They also have a few other NOS American sets. But nothing that grabbed my fancy.
