It says online only so they won't price match it, I'd like to order it for store pickup but it won't let me. WTF Sears.

Talk to a manager. Down at the bottom of the page you linked to, you can see the $34.99 price still -- show that to a manager and see if they'll help you.

I tested this for you at the closest Sears to me on my way home. Set rings up at full price in the store, and the item number doesn't come up in any searches at Sears.com on the store kiosk. So I explained to the salesperson that the set is showing on sale online, but I need full internet access. They obliged, and I brought up the set with the link from this thread. Supervisor approved, called a manager. Manager approved, and I bought one. The extra 10% off didn't show anymore, so it was 34.99 plus tax, but I'm not complaining. That price is nuts.

I ordered one a week or so ago for store pickup but it said expected at my store in 12-14 days :S Was going to order another and it showed out of stock. Next day it was up again but with a 20+ day wait for store-pickup. Not sure if I'll ever get the one I ordered or not but paypal was charged so... :S

Rumor has it guys were getting USA low-profile ratchets and non-etched sockets. (Just stamped) but that's my preference so *hopefully* mine goes though on that...

I had this on my iphone(a screen capture) but they couldnt see the item number so they wouldnt honor it.:(.. They have two modules on the shelf, a 10 piece and 18 piece wrench set. Plus the 52 piece impact set and 3/8th set....

I need those links!

I don't really need the 1/4 or 3/8th stuff but the 10 and 18 piece wrench set would be rather nice. But I did get a $10 off $30 or more from sears for my birthday... I guess I could get the set for like $20

The manager yesterday told me that the website will usually show out of stock for the store when the store quantity gets to 2 or lower. They had 2 of the 1/4" drive sets (now 1), one of the 1/2" drive sets, and two of the 10-piece large wrench sets. Online, those items all show out of stock for the store.

So if you've ordered an item online and it shows as out of stock, and the store isn't too far away, I'd suggest driving to the store with your order printout in hand. Or call them, but I've had less than good luck with that for the module sets, since they're not in the normal location.

Yes, all of the module sets are USA-made tools. Otherwise, I wouldn't have purchased this set. And the sockets are the stamped, non-etched type.

I already had all 3 LP ratchets (bought in 2010) and was trying my best to ignore this sale. But for $35, I now have in-house warranty backup. I use 1/4" a lot (motorcycle work), so I justified it to myself.

"Self, you need this!" :lol_hitti

Just picked mine up. They had to order it TO the store for in-store pickup but at-least they honored it.

But in typical Craftsman set fashion got an "oops". Ended up with a 12-point, 9/16" deep socket. Not worth taking it back though I suppose.

Showed a friend my set yesterday. We promptly went to Sears for him to buy the last 1/4" set and a 3/8" set. The manager available at the time did not want to honor the extra online 10% off.

She explained that the reason the website shows no stock available when inventory levels fall below 2 was so that online sales don't wipe out store inventory. Online sales are to compete with other online retailers, which can involve waiting for shipping in exchange for lower prices. The logic actually makes sense.

Respectfully, I countered with the fact that the sets had been sitting unsold for months, and that what brought us into the store was the online price. Eventually she agreed and matched the online price, "this time only".

Definitely YMMV, then. The good thing is that the sets are back on sale today for their lower prices without the 10% hassle.
