Craftsman 315 table saw value?

I'm looking to buy a contractor table saw to replace my small craftsman. The craftsman 315 series seems like it would be adequate for my needs. Prices on CL seem to vary greatly. I recently missed out on one for $150 (sold immediately, probably priced at low end). I now see a slightly cleaner one with a mobile base for $400. I think that's pretty high. Would I be off base to offer $225? What are they really worth? They are 10+ years old.

I would stay away from Craftsman unless its 30+ yrs old. They havent been making good wood working tools for at least that long. Its all rebadged junk for the most part.

Hold on to your money till you find a decent older Jet, Powermatic, Rockwell, Delta saw.

If those are out of your budget or to big, look into the Dewalt portable unit that has been on sale for the last couple months. Not a bad unit.

Now if you must buy a cheap contractor saw like the Craftsman, dont pay more then $200 for a mint + accessories model.

I have a Delta, same as in the CL post above for over 40 years. I just bought a Vega fence and link belt w/pulleys.

I have two, both 30+ years old. A good blade and a PALS alignment kit and they are pretty descent. one of mine has a fence that works good the other you have to pay attention to or you'll have problems. I paid $150 for one and it came with a set of 3/4 inch pipe clamps with 6' pipes. The other I paid $40 for.

I saw that delta, wasn't sure on that fence. There is also a unisaw by me for $500, 1.5hp, but given the fence size on it I'm not willing to give up that much floor space. Maybe I could replace the fence and build a mobile base (casters)

I avoid Craftsman tools with weird fractional horsepower ratings (such as 2.7 hp). Any true horsepower motor about 1.5 hp on a 120V 15A circuit is already close to blowing the circuit breaker. So 2.7 (Peak) is pretty bogus to me.

I've had two crafstman table saws, I now have an older Jet table saw with an Exacta fence and wish I had of gotten it first.
