Just picked up this Sears craftsman #32755 slack belt sander at a garage sale. Never seen or heard of this before. I only found one article about it, comparing it to an industrial stroke sander. No sales current or finished on eBay. Anyone familiar with these? They are made to be hooked up to a radial arm saw I know. I'm curious if the drive belt and any sort of upper pulley came with it or if this looks complete and ready to hook up to a saw. Also, any idea of re-sale value? I bought this to re-sell and I am curious if these are sought after or kind of antiquated being that s radial arm saw is required.

You might find the right guy to sell it to, but what I think you have is a novelty.

With the rise of cheap sliding miter saws and multi angle chop saws out there, the radial arm saw has quickly become a tool of the past. That, and the fact that there are fewer home woodworkers now, means that anyone selling a RAS can't even give them away. You see them listed all the time at inflated prices because the sellers think they're still worth money, but they rarely sell. Most end up on the curb, or sent to scrap.

The few professionals that still use a radial arm saw have them set up for cutting jobs only, and have other machines to take care of the other work. They don't want to take the time to convert a machine for multi use when it's faster to walk to the other side of the shop to do the sanding. (the same applies to RAS milling attachments)

It's definitely an interesting piece, but I think you're going to holding on to it for a while.

(EDIT - you might have better luck if you can convert it to a motor/pulley driven sander.)
