Craftsman 33gal compressor tripped the breaker

Well, this has never happened. I was using a tiny random orbit sander and the the compressor was running to keep up with it. Anyway, i also notice the foam filter and how it looks.
any ideas. I drain the tank after every use.

I assume you tripped the panel breaker and not some wimpy push button thingy on that power strip.
To start with, what is the amp rating on the breaker? 15amp or 20 amp.
Were there any other loads on the same circuit as that compressor?

DOH! Your last sentence maybe solved the mystery. Mr. heater could have been on the same circuit. 20a in that portion of my shop. The dust filter appears to have seen better days.
