Alright guys, lurking here for awhile. I'm in the market for a large Chrome socket set for my work chest so I can retire some Misc. sets. I found the craftsman 35299 set and it's exactly what I'm looking for, but to my dismay its "out of stock" anyone have any insight if its discontinued or what? Maybe someone can suggest something else?

35299 shows in stock for shipping for me. It could depend on warehouse inventory however, and your warehouse could be out.

Well I guess it was only "out of stock" for a few days. thanks a lot guys gonna grab the one with the extensions I think.

When I bought mine, I got the 34142 set. All 6 point, 125 sockets, dual-marked. I didn't find the ratchets or 6pt combo wrenches to be useful, but hey, it's pretty inexpensive for what you get. There's no 1/2" deeps, but I was going to get 1/2" (and 3/8" for that matter) impacts, so the 1/2" chromes were unnecessary anyway. The 15383 3/8" & 1/2" impact set is pretty complete and not half bad for $300. IMO those two sets @ $480 are a damn good value.

So, without trying to find a parts list for both sets.. is the only difference the extensions? I mean do both sets include the same 299 sockets? the 308 pc set has a link to an included parts list.. the 299 pc doesn't so I haven't been able to compare.

Ok, just got a complete parts list for both sets. They are identical other than the addition of the extensions. Just ordered the 35831 for $329.** shipped/tax and all. Used the SEARS35OFF300AFFILIATEDEALS coupon code and they had free shipping as well.
