Craftsman 397 block grinder problem

I bought a 397 series 1/2 HP Craftsman block grinder. It worked great but I decided to get it cleaned it up and painted up all nice. I put a new stone and wire wheel on it and within 10 seconds of turning it on it made a loud pop and a bright white flash. It blew the house breaker so I reset it tried it again. Now when I flip the switch the motor gets power but it will not turn. It sounds like if something is keeping the shaft form turning. However, I can spin the the shaft freely by pushing down on the stone. I am no electrical guru so does anyone have any suggestions on where to start? I can put some pics up here if that would be helpful.

There is a pic of the wiring in the Block Grinder thread. Make sure it's wired correctly.

Thanks for the reply, nine4gmc. I just rechecked the wiring and it looks correct according to that thread you were referring to.
