I just tried and it wouldn't let me complete the check out. I would buy another one in a heartbeat if I could but no dice.

There where 2 tops at my store last Thursday, they wouldn't price match either.

I think I'll run back over today with printouts of the new price deal. Maybe I'll get a new set of associates and managers willing to price match, provided they have one of the tops left. The associate I was working with seemed willing to price match, but the two managers that were needed for override approval kept saying "No".

will they price adjust a clearance item?

Seems very YMMV. It is not apparel but maybe considered Online Only Special Offer.

"To claim a Price Protection Policy adjustment, go to your original Sears store where the purchase was made with your receipt. If your purchase was made on Sears.com, please fill out a Price Protection form. You will be given a refund for the difference of the original selling price and the current advertised/reduced price. Apparel clearance merchandise and conditional Online Only Special Offers do not qualify for Price Protection Policy adjustments."

No luck for me, I left a copy of my receipt and phone for the store manager to call me on monday. The manager on duty was trying to tell me that since it was a floor model and not online that its applicable..... then she showed me this (highlighted in red) that its "online only" I told Ill wait to speak to the store manager and walked out.

The links in OP seem to be dead now. Dang I missed out on that one

I think they removed it to stop price matching the online price. Or just so much attention on this not available product that they decided to take it down because of the increased bandwidth usage. I brought in a printout and they did not even check the computer when I got $100 back from the latest drop.

Which brings me to another point. I think I will stop purchasing online for merchandise pickup. I will just work face to face with the employees and create a better relationship. There was a older guy that worked in the store that I knew for years but after he retired I never got to know the new younger generation. When you need them to go the extra mile for you they will if they know you well. I watched the employee go to bat for me when he talked to the manager on the phone to get get me some money back. That is when I realized that I should really buy from them in person so they get commission and I have a advocate when these good deals come up. Use their name when you talk to them, stop by when your in the mall and chat a little. It goes a long way. For better or for worse I have a lot of Craftsman stuff and I can tell you I am very happy with everything I have purchased from them. So I will make the best of every visit and try to buy everything in the store from now on.

SCORE!

I printed the pages yesterday for the Top of $162.92, so I could go over to another store across town on Sunday. They didn't have any, so I threw the pages in the trunk of my car.

When I saw this thread and checked the website that this deal was pulled down, I drove over to the Sears down the street from me that had two Tops (one floor model and one new in the box) that refused to price match last week when it was $195.

They still had the floor model, so I went over to the register and saw the same person as last week. I said "Hi, I was here last Thursday trying to price match the website." The associate said "Yes, I remember you." I said "the price dropped further on the website, so I came by to see if you could still price match, because I'm still interested." The associate said "there is a different manager today, so let me ask." They then took the paper from yesterdays printout, and walked away.

About 15 minutes later they came out and said, "Yes, we can price match, and we still have the new one in the box in the back." I said "I'll take it!"

So I bought the new one today (even though it has been pulled from the website) for $162.92.

The key was bringing in the paper printout. Because then they didn't have to look it up on the internet (and see it was pulled). Also, by the way, on the store system it still rings up as a valid item for $319.97. I think that is the price they had for the used floor model (ends in "7"). They then did a credit to knock the price down to $162.92.

They also said they would price match the Bottom, but they didn't have any of those. But no worries, I really only wanted the top to put on a workbench.

For whatever strange reason, they still refused to sell the used floor model for that price. Only the new one for that price. The used floor model they are holding firm at $319.97. Who knows.... but I'll take the new one over the floor model anyways...

Persistence pays. It wasn't easy to get one of these, but possible if you keep trying.

Save the printouts, that's going to be key to still getting one of these, or getting an adjustment if you bought at the higher price last week.

It is very good, I had so much fun filling it up last night. All the Craftsman stuff fits so well too. For example I have tool trays with regular sockets or impact sockets and such I open up the case and the whole unit fits perfect in the drawers.

I was playing around with my Son in the garage and we started singing to it. "♫♫You are so beautiful.... To me....♫♫"

Here is an example of what I mentioned before. This is my old Craftsman set that is almost 20 years old. Look how perfect it fits in the side drawer. Everything fits good just like this. It is almost as if they planed it this way which would surprise me. I didn't think these things were thought out.

I checked 2 local stores last week with no luck. Sears has a poor inventory system it seems.

Im glad I posted this up. Seems like quite a few got in on the deal!

I have a Slickdeal alert for the word Sears on Slickdeals.com. It came up and after I got it I went here to see if a thread was started on it and it was already. Too bad there is not a keyword alert on Garage Journal. But I am glad you put it up here. If you don't know what Slickdeals is it is probably for the best.
