I agree... the USA craftsman boxes are long long gone... if you're going to get China, at least pay the appropriate price.

Id also go with the harbor freight box. At least half the price for the top and bottom chest and its a great value. I have a bottom chest w a side cabinet and the only upgrade i see in the future is more bottom chests.

As with some other newer Craftsman Tool boxes, it's a rebadged International Tool Box version. I guess you could do worse.
Many people here swear by the harbor freight tool boxes. I don't have either model but, I think I'd find a waterloo made Craftsman or just a waterloo model. Mexico is closer than China.

I really like the harbor freight box; it's sturdy, the drawers roll smooth, and its a great price. BUT the drawer layout just *****. It has way too many drawers that are just a bit too shallow and a couple of drawers that are not quite deep enough. That box looks a little better...but it still doesn't have the variety of drawer sizes I would want. I like some shallow drawers, some deep drawers, some wide drawers, some narrow drawers. It makes it really easy to organize.

Thanks guys, It just looked like a best option for a cman box sense ive got all cman tools(usa ones). and i have out grown my smaller craftsman box and i would still like to be all one brand,and theres no way i am getting the hf box. but it doesnt look that bad of a box. But i do get student discounts 50 and 60% off so i might switch to a snap on box and slowly get all snap on.

I have seen that box at Sears and like the rest of their lineup its pretty flimsy. You could get a sturdier Kobalt 41"@ lowes for cheaper, but it was stainless.

One of the most frustrating things about Craftsman boxes is that, while they get wider, they never get deeper. They're still always 18" deep, which really stinks.

At the price they want for that, if you're determined to stay Craftsman, you'd be better served buying a couple of the 26" wide stacks.

Or, as others mentioned, you can get a lot more for a lot less with an HF box, or a MasterForce like this one:

I looked at one if those with a friend recently... a very decent box for the money. Not as big as what he's looking at unfortunately, but you could always go with two..

I had a Canadian made SO box before I got my KRL and it was a very well made and sturdy box... I'm wondering if that CMAN box in the OP wasn't also made in Canada... looks identical to that Costco Box..

I'd do that in a heartbeat before I did an HF China job in that case.

ive gto an older griplatch 42" craftsman in navy blue... top,middle add on drawer and base.....and i dont like it very much ....flimsy slides and shallow drawers front to back.....i was young and dumb and i would go another route at this point....

the top drawer on my setup is about 6' off the ground and very inconvenient to use...i would probably go 2 base cabinets bolted together with a workbench top....

I completely agree... you HAVE to play with it in person and pull the drawers...

if they're flimsy in when empty, then they're really going to stick when they're weighted down with 50lbs in sockets..

Take your time and do your research..

Also, if you don't need all that space, you can always scan craigslist or your local Snapon / Matco Truck for a clean used box... I got a decent KRA a ways back from my local SO dealer for $550, and it was "like new"

That's an International box....just with a Cmans name on it. International makes the boxes for cmans in Canada. I have the same exact set up but it has the International name on it....made in Canada. I was just a Sears and they are starting to get them in....They had two of the smaller ones there...a lot nicer then the old ones, but the price is stupid. I both my International box from Sears.com for WAY cheaper then the one with the Craftsman name on it. Click on the brand on Sears.com, you will see they are the exact same. Its sad they are charge so much more for the name.

You can get that from quality tools for less for under $1000.00 international plate on it.

Sears has 30% on line deal right now you have to fight for it but that would put it under a grand too.

Go with the HF 13 drawer box and the matching top box with 8 drawers, in total that would cost you $900. Also you can buy additions made to fit onto it from HF and still be under the price of the Craftsman unit.

I'd love to know where you guys are seeing this. Anything under $1000 is usually smaller or just the bottom box. I did see an ancient matco bottom box with a side locker for $800. That is the best deal I saw in any of the tooltruck boxes. All the rest say "$4,500 new I'll take $2,200, no lowballers" or something of the like.
