Craftsman 51855 main nut question

So I stripped the main nut on my 51855 Craftsman bench vise yesterday. I bought the vise new about 20 years ago and its been good until this. The vise is in excellent condition so I'd like to just replace the main nut, but I'm having difficulty finding a parts list. I can find 51856, 51871, and 51865 but each of those list at least 2 different main nut part numbers. I contacted Sears and they don't list a part number, but instead gave me a telephone numbers for Warren Tool Mfg but that sends me to a diesel cleaning company??
Researching online I've seen some people say the 51855 was made by Columbian and others say Wilton. I contacted Wilton but haven't heard back from them. Here on Garage Journal I found a thread that stated the 51855 is basically the same vice as the Wilton D46 but all the sites I search for parts show the main nut is "NOT AVAILABLE"? Anyone here have any idea what main nut will work for my vise? The two listed that look identical to mine are part #11113-15 and #11114-15. If anyone has any idea which one of these will work for my vise or any idea where I can go to find the part I'd really appreciate it.

how about posting a picture of your vise? Usually, the best way to handle this situation is to find a donor vise for parts, or simply buy another similar vise. Otherwise, you will spend more money on parts than you would for a similar vise (like a d46) from CL or a garage sale.

It was made by Colombian which was then owned by Wilton. They are now under a bigger tool group. Walter Meier or something?

Any chance I will be able to get that part from Wilton? Is this a Columbian vise in craftsman clothing? If so, what model Columbian vise is it?

Yes it’s a Colombian. Not sure the number maybe D46 if it’s a six inch?

Have you checked ereplacentviseparts.com ?

Go to the Colombian section on there.

I don’t think Wilton will be of any help.

But search for Columbian. Colombian refers to the country in South America between Venezuela and Ecuador.

I rolled the dice and bought part #11114-15 from ereplacementparts based on researching Columbian and Wilton vise parts diagrams. I actually saw that same part number listed for the Columbian D46 vise but when you try to by the part for that vise it's unavailable.
Anyway it arrived Saturday and is a perfect fit. It cost $3.99 and shipping was $5.50 so for less than $10 I'm back in business. Hopefully this info will help someone else save an American made vise from the scrap pile.

I rolled the dice and bought part #11114-15 from ereplacementparts based on researching Columbian and Wilton vise parts diagrams. I actually saw that same part number listed for the Columbian D46 vise but when you try to by the part for that vise it's unavailable.
Anyway it arrived Saturday and is a perfect fit. It cost $3.99 and shipping was $5.50 so for less than $10 I'm back in business. Hopefully this info will help someone else save an American made vise from the scrap pile.

I have the same vise, but it is only 15 years old.
My nut is fine.
My problem is the screw is bad.
Maybe they put a weaker screw in the newer 51855.
Please explain again how you find the part. Your post is a little confusing to me.

I want to thank those that not only do the research, but post it to save the time of others. My Craftsman (Columbian in disguise) center bolt is on its way. Finding it was remarkably easy because of you guys.

Wondering if anyone has the specs for these replacement nuts. (11115-15)
I stripped (wore out) the nut on my 1970s Columbian.
My screw is 3/4-4.
I’m an amateur machinist, so if I could find a nut with those threads, I probably could marry the new threads to the old nut, or modify things to adapt to the new nut.
