it is a good deal but i think a couple of the HF 45" cabinets would be better and would give you more space not to mention they would be a few hundred less. Both are made in china. I'd also check out the Craftsman box for myself to make sure the steel is okay. If its the same thin stuff they use on their smaller do-it-yourselfer boxes i'd steer clear. The HF boxes on the other hand are quite sturdy.

I'll echo Skin and stick with my HF boxes as I feel it is better overall quality and bang for my buck.

not sure where your from but if you have a menards go check there masterforce line, it comes in green only and a 36, 4? (40 something) and 56. nicer then the cman by far and a touch above the HF in my opinion for similar money and what i wish i knew about and had bought instead of the HF bottoms they are very nice BUT i like masterforces drawer layout better

I took a close look at this combo a couple months ago and wasn't impressed.

- No full-width drawers
- Drawers only 16 1/2" deep
- Only 70 lb capacity drawers
- The box feels flimsy and cheap

It would be OK (but not great) for a garage box but not for work IMO. After seeing both in person, I'd rather buy the HF boxes.

Wasn't this thing on sale for $1000 just this past or earlier this month? I was looking at the box too. I wasn't impressed really either. I agree the HF box is a better deal. I would also consider the montezuma boxes from strictlytoolboxes.com if you got $2000 to put into something. I think that 1800 is way to much for that box. I couldn't bring myself to pay the $1000 for it.

Most of the Craftsman boxes were made by Waterloo, here in the USA. The slides, probably come from offshore, they did in my boxes.

You bet. I just purchased 2 of them a few weeks ago. $349 -20% on each. You might want to bring a friend. They only allow 1-20% off cupon per box at some stores. They could really care less at the HF I went to ;-)

That friend will come in handy when unloading them. They are quite heavy!

I find that the 52" comb is not that much better than getting two 26" combo units and bolting them together. Other than the extra storage up top there is no drawer wider than what you would get with the smaller units. I can't see having a chest that wide without it having at least a 41" drawer. I think you would do better with the 41" harbor freight combo or masterforce combo for less $ or a used box for a little more $.

You can use the 20% off coupon on top of sale prices in the store. You're not supposed to be able to stack coupons, so if the price is one of their super coupons, the 20% isn't supposed to be good.

If the internet price is cheaper than the store price and you bring in the internet page they will knock the store price down. When they do this they aren't supposed to allow the 20% off coupon, but some stores do.

There are some people on this board who have had problems with honoring 20% coupons in conjunction with sale prices.

The only definite is that it can vary depening on the clerk/store manager you're dealing with.

Exactly. They managed to make a bigger box without any of the benefits of a bigger box.

Look on this site and Craigslists around your area for a used Snap-On box.
You should be able to find a much better used box for just a little more money. We're talking about something you will be personally using on a regular basis. You really need to be completely happy with it. The first time you accidently overload the drawers on the cheap box, you will not be happy.

Masterhand is available from Tractor Supply Company (TSC) they udes to have MasterFOrce. I had a top 41" that fell of a forklift from about 20' the only damage was the lid was out of square,$50 bucks later) I tapped it back in shape with a hammer and angle iron for shape and it was great, I gave it to my dad and got 6 26" cratsman rollaways. I have the mid level ball bearing units. $299 for 4 drawers regular price. I miss having the bigger drawers to keep all of my sockets from a drive size in on place. I had a 1/2,3/8, and 1/2 drawer were as now they carry over into 2 drawers each. I would probably do the Masterforce, then HF painting to match before I bought another craftsman, assuming they were close in price. The Masterhand seems to be identical, even favoring the forest green, although black is an option.

Well I have a Craftsman box, and I like craftsman, most of my tools are c-man, but I will agree with everyone else who says there boxes are garbage. I put maybe 35-40 pounds of sockets in one of the drawers and it nearly crapped itself on me. I paid extra for the heavy duty premium box or whatever it was, and the box itself is nice, but it cant hold a lot of weight.

PS When you put 40 pounds of sockets in a drawer thats rated for 70 pounds and it doesn't work, it is a pain in the ***, because that was just my 1/2" stuff, not including my 8 point.
