IM talkin to a guy right now that has one and wants to get rid of it. Its 6.5HP with a 60 gallon upright tank. It is oilless. Is this a decent compressor for 450 bucks? Can 210V compressors be swapped to 110V configuration. THe thing is, my garage doesent have 220 hookup. thanks guys.

No, I dont think so. Not unless it specifically says it can be wired for either 110 or 220. Im not familiar with that model in particular but I know the portable oilless red ones are loud as hell.

How much was it new?

No way can 6.5 HP be run off 110.
If the motor is only a 220 volt motor you can't. But under normal Sears circumstances, absolutely you can run a Sears 6.5HP on 110 volts, that is like 3 maybe 4HP in the real world. Sears wildly inflates their HP ratings, look at the motor plate and see what the amps are and do the math it will not come out to 6.5HP.

Sears takes their HP ratings at some weird point in the running of the motor and not where everyone else reads HP, its like others are reading HP at free running and Sears does it at stall or something like that, I remember reading about it but don't remember the details.
