Craftsman guys,

Restoring an old Joiner and I'm replacing the bearings (accurate bearings).

In a haste to remove them I made a terrible error, I didn't measure the location of the outer bearing face to the end of the cutter head shaft. I can see faint witness marks of were they were but would like to have a true dimension if anyone can provide them for me.

I can tell you that my E tank was really helpful in losing up the blades and the blade wedges that were rusted up pretty bad!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Dan

Craftsman Joiner Owners,

Received my new bearings (Accurate B.C.) and have a few questions?

1. I have about .001" - .002" play when I install the bearings in the Support Brackets. Would u recommend using Loctite bearing retainer on the OD of the bearings---or, just install the bearings and let them find their own home??
2. Any idea where these 2 concave spacers go inside the joiner?

Thanks in Advance!!

The two concave washers are for the sliding mechanism that attaches to the fence. One goes underneath it with the flat side towards the slide and the other goes on top with flat side towards the slide. If you look at the knob, it will be rounded over to accommodate the concave washer.

Jay,

Thanks so much!

I thought for a moment they might have went under the Feed table and I possible lost 2 of them or the Joiner came with out them.

Makes sense now!
Best regards

Jay,

Just for clarity, did you mean items 85 and 90 on the first attachment- Joiner 2?

Thanks again!
