Sears outlet has the Craftsman 26" wide 8 drawer ball bearing griplatch bottom box for $227.99 new right now.

http://www.searsoutlet.com/26-Wide-.../product_details.jsp?md=ct_md&cid=143&flt_sp=[0 TO 90000]&flt_shipping_length=[0 TO 100]&flt_shipping_width=[0 TO 100]&flt_shipping_height=[0 TO 100]&pn=1&ps=24&pid=10497&mode=seeAll&itemSelectionType=all

On that page it shows up as $265 but when you click select from available the next page shows it as $227.99 picked up. Oddly enough the "like new" box is listed as $265. So it cost more for the used one lol.

I got lucky in picking one up today. The local store that showed 2 red ones in stock didn't have them, but they did have an unlisted black one that had a few little dents n scratches marked at $305. Everyone there was very helpfull and after working up to the store manager he price matched the internet price. Then I asked if the scratch n dents would knock anything off. He must have been in a good mood and gave me the box for $199 :)

Of course Murphy and his laws couldn't let me go scott free. The box was locked, it took a bit but the keys were found. Then on our way to the truck one of the wheels fell off smh. Its an easy fix so no big deal.

In close if you are looking for a good box and lucky enough to have an outlet with one in stock near by its a great deal. Happy hunting.

Update... I don't know why but when I tried the link in the above post it came up with a product not available message. If you go to the searsoutlet.com site and enter in item # 59719 it comes up.

I am a Craftsman guy but man it seems that $265 should be the regular price, can't imagine paying twice that.

this is totally regional pricing... it will be different depending on the location you pick. that said, anyone who can get this should really consider it if that's the type of box you need. yes, it's a bit pricey if you're thinking about the low-end boxes that Craftsman sells, but this IS NOT one of those... it's a discontinued model and "grip latch" isn't what's cool about this one; they all have that feature now. this is one of the older boxes as part of their "premium" line and the ball bearing slides are rated for 70lbs, instead of the 25lbs or 50lbs of the newer product lines.

Thank you for the help with the link k-os.

bimmerZ5, I was not aware of all those details on the box so score for me. I'm in Baltimore MD so I guess this may be a mid atlantic deal then?

For me this is a great one to add to my other tool box's. I like having a few small tool box's as opposed to one large one. I'm a shop tech right now but at anytime my work can put me on the road and fitting a bigger box in a service truck doesn't always work well. This is where I also think the griplatch becomes extra nice. Nothing worse than taking a turn and hearing the drawers come sliding open because you forgot to lock it ugh.

Available in Orlando and Tampa outlets for $227, 2 each store. I have the 6 drawer one from like 10 years ago, and it has held up to a lot of tools and moving around! I put a wood top on it for a rolling work bench and also have an oversized metal top that sits on it for welding. Can mount my little 12 inch press on it. The grip latch keeps the drawers from opening when you roll it around.

I'm in the middle of moving into a new garage, don't know what I have the room for , but ..... that is a good deal for someone, thanks for posting!
