If they are not marked USA then they are usually not made in the US

I bought a 3 piece set of those pliers a few months ago and was really disappointed with the quality of them. And yes the COO is China.

$44.99 for me. For others who have it for $24.99, that is $3.20 a plier which is a "warm" deal for non-US/Germany pliers.

Made in China, at least those I've seen.

I bought the whole set for $0.08/each or so back when Sears had that $5 off $5 coupon.

These appear to be made by the same OEM, just with red instead or gold handle coloring.

They're okay, and $22 for the set is quite good, but for higher precision work or long tasks, I prefer to use other brands' mini pliers and cutters.

Bought the smaller set a few months back for less than $5 at a Sears store. They are Chinese. My wife needed some very small pliers for some light-duty crafts things she does, and these, for $5, are fine for that. High quality--no. Useable for light stuff--yep.

I also bought the 5 piece set a while back for around $10 they are ok at best. I am not thrilled with them, but for what I needed them for they worked, but I do need an upgrade. Stupid China ****

I don't think these pliers were ever made in the US. Prior to China, they were very nicel made in France

Yeah-China.

Not bad for electrical work (wiring and stuff) behind dashboards on cars.

Re: Craftsman 8 pc Mini Plier Set YMMV

I have a set of the gold handle cman ones and a set of the older black handle ones. The black handle ones are much better imo. I don't use these if i don't have to.

Personally, I like the Xcelite for general purpose use mini pliers and Xuron for cutters.

I use the Xuron 170-II side cutters at work, where they get heavy use (read: abused) and they generally last about a year before they need to be replaced. But for $7, they are absolutely worth it. They are the best side cutters i have used. The fine point needle nose pliers they make are great for light-duty work on electronics. I've used them to pull SMT resistors, transistors, etc off of circuit boards.

I also use the Xcelites at work, and have never had an issue with them.
