Anyone have this meter? Craftsman 82014 true rms clamp meter. My father-in law gave me this and me not know anything about electrical cannot figure it out.

I'd like to use it check my voltage on my car battery and electrical on my car when I am away racing. Here is a pic. A manual would help but any information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Turn it on, press the button next to "V", and touch the red test lead to the positive battery terminal, and the black one to the negative (ground) terminal.

If the display reads "AC" after pressing the V button, simply press the button above that to switch from AC to DC voltage.

The clamp is mostly for measuring current (amps), not precise voltage.

I've had that same meter for years. I've only used it a handful of times though. I'll see if I can find the manual for it this weekend and get it scanned.

That is for a different model of clamp meter.

Yep that is for a different model clamp meter...

Awww ****. It showed up first result on google and the drawing on the cover looked the same so I obviously didn't look into it any further than that before posting. Sorry.

I just called searspartsdirect (800-683-1692) and spoke with a very nice sounding woman with a South Asian accent who likewise was unable to find anything for that model number. Go figure.

That fooled me too. It is a different meter. Look at the model number on the manual. The OP's meter has a K thermocouple jack on the meter. The one covered by the manual has no jack and used an adapter plug to go into the + and - jacks. Even the push buttons are different. I tried searching Sears parts direct and his model number only brought up a refrigerator that had his model number as part of the refrigerator model number. There is probably another number on the back of his meter. There is some useful stuff in that manual but more experience might be required. I looked long and hard for his manual and came up empty. I think his best best is to try and get it from Sears. It is not that old.
