Hi, I have a Craftsman four horse 25 gallon air compressor.
It's from the late '80s or early '90s.
It's had a leaking regulator for quite some time so I thought I would replace the regulator finally.
It was brutal trying to get it off of there, the brass ended up stripping and it turned into a vice grip experience.
The threaded part is what was in the regulator side of things, but the other part that goes towards the compressor engine side looks like this.
Not sure what this part is called to replace it?
Also not sure it was really designed to come out of the compressor engine side?
It was tight but seems questionable that it wouldn't have been threaded?
It seems like it would have to be held in there fairly well with the air pressure behind it for safety sake?
I'll attach a picture of the part, I appreciate any help. Thanks!
