I have one made by delta. Rikon and several others also have the same basic unit--they work great if maintained and run. I have mine on a remote control that starts up when I start my dust collector.

Ok thanks. Do you know what style filter they use? Do they all take the same basic type? or do they seem easy enough to modify or cut a similar filter to fit them.

two filters. Inner and outer. The outer is a cheap HVAC style, and the inner is more expensive HEPA filter. I have the filter numbers somewhere. They are both expensive if you purchase the specific part numbers, but the guy I bought from cross referenced to cheaper parts that are identical.

I made one with in a plywood box with 2 small fans and one 20" x 25" Furnace filter for 1 micron size dust. filters are about $20-23 at the big box store. Mounted above power miter saw. Run it a lot of the time. Have about $40 in it including the filter. Looks similar to the Sears unit.

I made a second one using a furnace blower in a plywood box on casters with 2 filters - one on each side. Use it for projects making a lot of dust. Have about $90 in it including the filters. (A HVAC contractor friend donated the furnace blower/motor out of a used central heating unit). This one doubles as a fan in the summer.

Also put in a dust collector for power tools. HF 2 HP with a canister filter replacing the top bag and a thien baffle to catch most of the dust/chips etc.

Clean air in a shop with wood dust keeps bad things from happening to you.
