I am having a new house built and want to get one of these two openers. General thoughts on either one are appreciated. Is there really a difference between the two besides price?

They are made in the same Mexican factory, usually Liftmaster rails are better quality and sometimes they have some anti-vibration pads that sears doesn't, but internally they are the same. based on rails alone, I would get the 8550 over Sears, plus it is easier to get parts from LM than it is from Sears. Personally, I would look at Genie
