This doesn't surprise me. I would expect that Stanley/Black&Decker will be willing to sell Craftsman products anyplace they can get in the door.

I hope so as I have 2 Menards closer to me than Lowes after they closed two. There was no word if the deal SBD has with Lowes has an exclusivity agremment in the home improvement big box channel or not.

Sure why not?

Americans love a "brand-name," no matter how meaningless.

They can use it in their $99 "Troy-bilt" string trimmer. :)

Sears are replacing half there hardware departments with sporting goods. Looks like they are giving up on the handyman.

I hadn't heard anything about exclusivity with Lowes. I know Sears is still allowed to produce and sell Craftsman products, and they're still sold at Ace Hardware. I do know Lowes is supposed to have some Craftsman products in stores by Fathers Day 2018, with more by the end of the year. I know they'll have Craftsman hand tools, tool boxes, and outdoor power equipment. Haven't heard anything specifically about cordless power tools, but I imagine they'll have them as well. Not sure where they'll fit in with B&D, Kobalt, Hitachi, and Dewalt cordless tools there. All the Bosch cordless stuff around here was clearanced lately.

About six years back Menards had an end cap of Cman socket sets for Christmas. Based on how long they sat there "on sale", I'm not sure they would do that.

Menard's has had Craftsman branded items, off and on, for the last few years. Maybe if alot of people get really excited about Craftsman branded oil, it might be more on than off.

It sounds like Sears used them as an outlet for one-time/overstock product dumps in the past.
