Anyone have any thoughts on this unit? I was in the local Sears tonight and they had the top and bottom both in a clearance aisle. Top's $300 and bottom's $450 iirc.

I concur with pit. I have no idea what the hell they were thinking with that chest. It has useless electronic gizmo's and its cheap plastic...

Better off getting a metal chest.

Why do you guys say it's cheap plastic?

I handle these units every time I pass them at Sears, and they feel rock solid. The styling isn't in my taste, and I agree that there are too many frills and unnecessary additions, but the drawers and slides feel great!

Didn't notice the metal thoroughly though, just the that non-decoration plastic construction.

Well, I noticed the plastic drawer handles first off and wasn't too impressed. Then saw that they are full ball bearing glides, with decent looking drawers once you get past the pulls. Just wondered if anyone had first hand use with one.
