I destroyed my pulley getting it off, and now I want to replace it with something, but I don't know what. Any suggestions? Cast, balanced, etc.
Thanks.

Grab a cast iron TB Woods pulley with 5/8" bore. I am running a 6" diameter one on mine. They make a high quality pulley that is well-balanced.

A larger pulley will slow down your blade speed proportionally. If you like your speed as it is now then find a 5" diameter pulley.

Using the same pulley on the motor, a 6" pulley on the other end will run the blade slower than the 5". You would need to find a pulley calculator online to do the actual math.

Thanks guys. I got this saw only a few weeks ago, and it was not in any shape to cut, so I don't really know what speed I'm looking for. It will be used for wood only at this time. The pulley that came off of it just had a set screw, and the shaft does not have a keyway. Most of the TB Woods pulleys I've been looking at are for a keyway. I guess I just have not found the correct one yet.

Amazon has 5' V belt pulleys with 5/8" bore & set screw for under $20. Plenty good enough for that bandsaw.

^This is what I'll probably get until I fix the saw and see how it operates. I'm always wanting to church it up when I should stick with the basics at first. Thanks.

Output RPM = Input RPM * (Input Diameter / Output Diameter)

Example: 2.5" drive pulley, 5" driven pulley, 1750rpm motor = 875 output rpm

Yes, cast iron pulleys are best, but cast aluminum is as good as the rest of the Craftsman band saw.

Thanks. I will keep my eyes open for a cast iron one that's not too expensive. Probably after I see how she works when refinished and cutting wood.

Well, good things come to those who wait. That's what they say at least. I have been waiting to fix my Craftsman band saw, and found this on CL for 25 bucks. I was excited because I was missing the belt guard and blade guard. Also, my lower wheel was not so good and I had to cut off the outside pully. Plus, I got one of the knobs I was missing. All in all, I'm happy.
