Anyone know what this thing is? I thought it was homemade at first, after closer inspection it appears to be factory.

dang guys, it was clearly made by someone at the Craftsman factory on their lunch break, illegally as the story goes. So I will only sell it for $500.00 or an appropriately delicious turkey sandwich. Off to the scrap bin it goes.

Thanks for the help!

I'd grind it more past the hole....it will make a great spreading wedge when used with a breaker bar....new idea for me to make one.

:+1: You can even see the remnants of the squared off shoulder 90° from the flat faces. Sad, but someone probably needed it to get the job done.

I wouldn't scrap it. Small pry bar or put a point on it and it becomes a zombie slayer. Possibilities are endless

:+1: I didn't see the scrap comment earlier. :scared: Definitely don't just scrap it. Especially if the female end is good. Do as Dave mentioned above or grind it into a drag link socket or weld something on the end to make it useful for a special purpose.

I can see that being used as spare tire hoist tool. Lowering down the tire on vehicle. I have made one like that also

Im thinking someone needed a large flat blade screwdriver that they could use with a ratchet or breaker bar so they ground down an extension.
