I've been looking for a belt sander for quite awhile. Not cuz I need one, just cuz I wanted one. I saw this one listed in good condition but non-working. The seller said she's had it for about 25 years but only used it for two then it stopped working. The machine was actually in great looking condition but was indeed silent and I bought it for next to nothing. Turned out there was a broken wire for the power cord inside the switch box so I replaced it with a new longer one and now it sings. It's heavy and the only plastic pieces on this thing are the dust collector and the switch box
Any idea just how old it might be?

Wow, that is in nice condition. Those are usually beat to hell...
I bet the cast iron table from the older model would fit perfectly.

You ****

Looks like a excellent combo sander, you will wonder how you got along without for so long.

113 is Emerson electric and I believe 1993 is manufactured date. I worked at Sears in the early 1990’s if my memory serves me right. I also purchased off FB market place recently for $75.00

Looking thru a bunch of catalogs on the Craftsman catalogs DVD from David Maher, it looks like the 1989 version has the correct tensioning screw and base. 1993 has a tensioning knob, not screw.

That's exactly what I have been looking for. Anything around here is priced way to high.
