That style CM grinder is a classic. I'd put it up there with Baldor any day. They're very powerful, smooth running and well built. One should never resist the buying opportunity if you come across one.

My dad had that very model, I think he even bought it in 1974. It was a good machine.

Great find, I have the 1/3hp version that I bought new around 1969/1970. The 1/3hp is a powerhouse so the 1/2hp should really have some power.

Nice! 1974 must be the first year for the flat top block grinder, the 1973/74 catalog still shows the rounded top one. Has the cool cast wheel covers with exhaust ducts. 7" wheels right? I picked up its younger brother block grinder last weekend, made in 1976, otherwise same as yours. I like the crown emblem on your label LOL!

My dad has a 1 hp he found new in the box. That is monster. Puts my 1/2 hp baldor to shame. I have a 1/3 hp block i need to find a use for, its a pity its just sitting in the barn.
