FYI, the 5-piece companion set with case is also on sale for $9.99, at least at my local store it was.

Yep. They generally both go on sale at the same time. Usually 2-3 times a year. Unlike the impact set, these are not covered by the lifetime Craftsman warranty, but they're still pretty good.

Just bought both sets. Picked up in store. USA made. With reward points only 9 dollars :) noticed almost all the tools in my store are still USA

Are these one time use tools or do they last through a few uses?

They are definitely hardened, and rounded-off bolts tend to be soft. The set I have hasn't shown any signs of being less effective. I haven't checked it for wear, mostly because it hasn't given me reason to check.

The set I use is the older 5 piece one in a red case with room for five additional pieces.

I also have a loose 6/7 piece set (six sockets plus ratcheting driver) without a case, which isn't as nice and sits unused in the back of a drawer.

I have used them a few times, but each of those times saved a bunch of time if not going out and buying a set.

I think a hand impact driver might work better than a power impact. If I did use a power impact I would want to make sure the socket had a solid grip before starting, otherwise its a rounding cutter.

Hmm, I bought the case on sale at sears, think it was 50% off also... This set wasnt on sale at the time though. It was made in USA at the time but idk if this set will be. Should be here tomorrow so we'll see.

Ive used them once and it worked like a charm. Hammered it on with a hammer then used a wrench. Didnt hurt the bolt out at all.

I got them last year and had a chance to use one a few weeks ago on some rusty bolts under my Toyota 4Runner. With an air wrench it just spun, worked much better with a hand impact and hammer.

Check the package when you pick them up. I got both sets today and when I got home found the one contained 2 size 9's and 2 size 10's instead of an 11 and 13. :dunno:

Are these one time use tools or do they last through a few uses?

They last a few uses if used properly. You can't just hand screw them on. They won't get on far enough and thus put too much stress on the threads at the end of the socket. Pounding them on makes them engage more and makes them less likely to round out. I've had great luck with these. I broke two pairs of pliers, 3 drill bits, and 1 extractor trying to get a bolt out (head snapped off), and lastly used these once I had the shaft turned out enough to pound these one. No sign of wear after using. And for the price, I'm tempted to pick up a second set!

No go for me, they are selling at $15/set

It's Kmart's turn for the $9.99 sale. However, they've ignored my past complaints about the 6pc w/case being missing from their website, so you have to go in-store to get it. Either that, or hope it shows up in the local ad section for your store.

Yes, both sets. Links up at the top of the page.

Edit - Oh.... and the Screw out set also $9.99

So all three sets half off.

Can anyone pick them up for me and ship?

Sears decided shipping wouldn't be available after I went through the whole checkout process...

Picked up my set today. While there I was able to get a 40inch 8 drawer top chest in the clearance corner for $121 after taxes!!! Feeling pretty stoked about that one. Pictures tomorrow!!
