I'm going to take a look at and probably buy this stack.

Can any of you box aficionados give me some insight regarding its age, value, original colors and whatnot? I've seen the bottom roller cabinet in the 54-57 PDF catalogs but can't find the top. It looks like a middle stack and a top stack as opposed to one unit.

Apologies for the single pic.

The bottom roller is easy enough to identify as a heritage-era Craftsman box made by Advertising Metal Display Co. I can't tell of the cabinet door is present, but the price will depend on your location. Around the Pacific NW, one in that condition will sell for $50-$100 depending on condition.

The top chest is throwing me off. The drawer pulls look like those like the Kennedy-made machinist chests, but I have never seen one with only two drawers and the Craftsman badge in that location.

The middle chest is most likely a 2 drawer top chest with the drawer locks removed so it can be used as a middle chest. I say that because of the large painted area between the top two, and middle two drawers appears to be a closed lid.

If the top two boxes are heritage-era Craftsman, they would be valued in the $50-$75 range per box around here.

If that middle box is a true middle box, it's worth more than the rest of the stack by itself, regardless of manufacturer.

Awesome. I'm headed to see it with a pocket full of dollars, I'll report back when I get it. Thanks for the info!

I have the same bottom box. When you go to look at this stack, make sure that the bottom door and drawer lock assembly works. If it does work properly, when the bottom door is closed, the drawers above it will be locked. Snap On has a similar design.

Good luck with your purchase.
