Many years ago, I bought this workbench from the local Sears. At the time, you could buy it without the butcher block top and that is what I did. I opted for just an MDF sheet cut in half and stacked. Advantage is that I ended up with a little more room on either side. The MDF has held up very well after all these years - yes it does not like water so I try to just watch that.
The drawers on the right, came as a kit and one could mount them on either side. The kit consisted of the middle 'leg', the sliders and the drawers. And since the 'kit' could be mounted on either side, it is possible to mount a kit on either side.
I think the workbench is still available, not sure about the drawer kits though...

Well the purpose of the post is I found these new Dewalt battery holders. They mount on a bar and I ended up just modifying the thing to match the pre-drilled holes on the left 'leg' of the workbench. Those are there to hold the sliders for the drawers on the drawer add-on kit. Since I don't have it, and there is some extra space, I gave it a go. The result turned out pretty slick:

At the very top is a mount for a battery charger. The two bars below have the battery holders. I ordered these from HomeDepot and they have a bundle price for the 20" bar/battery holders. For the battery charge, I ordered an extra 20" bar and of course, the battery charger mount.

This shows what the battery holders look like:

Note: the mattery mount according to the instructions only works for chargers DCB115, DCB112, DCB1104, DCB118, DCB1106, DCB1112 and DCB1102.

Might be overkill, but this frees up room in one of my toolbox drawers and moves the charger out of the way.

Great idea! I wish I had the room to mount something like that for my red batteries, but even the vertical acreage of my bench is already full.
