My old Snap-On CT 30 finally died, for good this time. Been rebuilt twice already, and I guess it's almost 15 years old. Been a good tool, and worth every penny.

I don't wrench professionally anymore, but still need a good replacement. Already have the C3 1/2" and several other Craftsman C3 series tools, with Nicad and L-ion batteries, so this seems like a logical choice.

Is the 3/8" impact physically smaller than the 1/2" one? Our small Sears doesn't have one on hand for me to see.
Anyone got the 3/8" one? Like it?

Yep it's smaller. Not by a huge margin, but it is smaller. I bought it on a whim, didn't really think I'd use it that much but I am so glad I did. It's a great impact and has come in very handy. It's plenty powerful too. I can break free the lugnuts on my car that the 1/2" one can. Takes a little longer to o it, but it's impressive that it can. For the $60 or so dollars, I highly recommend it.

Well, I ended up with one for Christmas. Seems more powerful than my old S/O, but partially because my old one was so wasted.

Came with a NiCad battery, that was defective, but Sears replaced it no problem. Like the LIon batteries better, but a spare is nice to have.
