Craftsman C3 line trimmer???

Does anyone have any experience with this Craftsman C3 line trimmer? I've got several of the other C3 tools and batteries already, so I won't need to worry about running out of juice during a trimming session. My black and decker cordless trimmer just doesn't have the juice to make it around the yard, even with it's two batteries.

i just bought one a few weeks ago & im impressed.. i bought it because,like you, i have about 6 batteries. i was leary going to battery powered,but ive used it about 4 times now and will never go back. im actually selling my gas ones at a yard sale tomorrow.its has nice power and i did my med sized property on one battery. the spools have .065 line which is thin but it works and the spool is auto feed which is nice. i wasnt expecting too much,but i was seriously surprised at the job this can do...... GET IT

My parents just picked one up. Seems to work well. Battery lasted longer then I thought it would. It can trim their medium sized yard without charging and still hasd some juice left. Its pretty light. I like the auto feed on the spool. All in all its not bad.

I have one. I love it. One charge does the whole front and back yard. I only have one battery but am looking to buy another. I have the blower too.

The only thing I can suggest is that if you get this trimmer, have a pair of scissors or knife close by because once in a while the line wont cut on the blade and may get caught in the spool.

If this happens you have to get the line out and cut it yourself. This only takes a few seconds. This only happens if you press the trigger a lot to try to adjust your speed because the line will not automatically cut if slow.

The line cuts automatically just fine if you like to put it on full trigger all the time.

Other than that, this trimmer is excellent and I would buy it again. Plus, I think its the coolest looking trimmer out there.

Don't have the trimmer but I'm considering getting away from the C3 line of stuff. I've had a lot of problems with the batteries and chargers.

After owning a few different light yard tools like this over the years I've decided that for me, electric plug in types are the easiest to deal with.

I know the electric cord can be a bit of a hassle, but I have a nice reel to pay it out quickly and take it up when I'm done. If you don't have to go more than 100-150 feet from an electric outlet you might want to consider this option.

The advantage is: no engine to service, no fuel to store or mix, no batteries to charge or replace. Just plug it in and go, and chuck it on a shelf when you're done.

Yeah, having electric is good. Especially with a blower. Cordless blowers are OK, but nothing like the full power of a corded electric blower.

My father gave me his old electric trimmer and blower (he prefers Black and Decker cordless and is getting too old to putz around with yardwork) and I have those as back up and use the electric blower for heavier jobs.

However I have not had any problems with C3 batteries so far. I have not tried Lithium yet. Too much $$$. I have been using the battery for the trimmer mainly for the past year with at least weekly use. I do love it. Knock on wood.

Bit of a thread hijack on my part here... nothing to do with craftsman C3, but for a blower I use an Echo PB751T. Nothing like the full power of sixty-three CCs! If your property is covered in trees that is. When I said "light yard tools" I was not including this one exception.

cool Echo blower. The C3 blower is nothing but a light broom in comparison. Our yard is too small for one of those. I hope you wear some good hearing protection.
