My sister gave me a $100 gift card to sears for christmas/my birthday. I was about to be putting up drywall at my parents today and I didnt have a good cordless drill. So I looked around at Sears and found a 19.2 volt lithium ion impact driver for $110. My dad advised me to wait for a sale. Well, snooping around the sears website I found the same 19.2 v lithium ion impact driver AND a drill both with 1 battery and charger for 98 bucks! I am certain its the same impact driver so what the hell! I ordered them tonight. They get good enough reviews. I know theyre no makita but they were basically free:rocker:

The makita impact driver ive used in the past was excellent putting up drywall and floors.

Very excited to get an impact driver. So much easier than a regular drill!

I have the same set you bought. I use it daily along with the 12v craftsman nextec in a professional automotive electrical shop. I also have the 1/2 impact wrench for taking out seats and seatbelt bolts. They have performed VERY well under daily use with ZERO issues. I know a lot of guys here **** on Craftsman cordless tools but they have been great to me.

I have one, very happy with it. Were they Lithium batts? If not, upgrade and they will be even better. My neighbor who is a contractor down in CT has had the same Cman impact driver for at least 3yrs now, even got a rebuild trigger last Summer for it. It has been used A LOT, he liked his so much be bought another!

glad to hear good reviews. I was doing contractor work for a little while but using my boss's makita stuff. I want to say he spent 299 for a set with 2 batteries, a circular saw, a drill and an impact driver. While the lithium batteries did not last all day for us, I really loved that impact driver. Light weight and powerful as heck. The battery operated circular saw was handy too.

Anyhow, glad to hear the craftsman might be good. In the store they seemed a little heavier then I recall the makita being, but again we're talking considerably less money.

I've had the 19.2 drill with lithium batteries for little over 2 years now. It always does exactly what I want and never had a problem with it. It's also been dropped off the roof, concrete floors and normal wear and takes it. Had to put 3/8 holes in 3/16 steel few months ago. Made 6 holes before the drill started getting a little hot. That's pretty good considering the money I spent on it. Also have the sawzall, grinder and impact wrench

I have that set plus an extra drill that's probably close to 20 years old. I also have the leaf blower which I use to vacuum our stairs.

Once you get the lithium batts, the C3 stuff is actually pretty nice! The switch on my really old drill is a little bit wonky, which is why I got the newer one, but it still works fine. And it's more powerful too. Nothing at all wrong with C3 tools to me.

i had the old 1/2in impact, drill and recip saw with the nicad and the small lithium batteries and they were ok. i got a $200 gift card to sears so i got the new 1/2in impact with the 4ah battery and a cordless grinder. i have only tested them once but i like the new impact alot more and it has convinced me to get more c3 tools. im thinking of getting the circular saw, 1/4in impact and a better drill and selling my nicad porter cable that have done me quite well.

Put the impact driver to use building a cheap workbench and it works very well.
