Craftsman just released their new Lithium Battery: the C3 XCP.

I just use the 19.2 NiCads for my: hedge trimmer, string trimmer, blower, small shop vac, inflator.

I like the system...good for general household use and a small time homeowner like myself. My only complaint is that the blower ***** up battery juice (this new battery would def. take care of that).

The NiCads are OK. I havent switched to Lithium. The new XCP battery is touted to be 4x duration and a hefty $100. Too much...

I think I'll hold out for now...

What do you other C3 guys think?

I have been using the Lithium C3 batteries for several years. They are well worth the price in terms of run time and power. I use the NiCads for flashlights and such.

I have the first version Lithium C3 batteries (full size and compact). I've only used the compact one on a drill, no complaints about it so far.

I use the full size ones on the blower and weed eater. I have a small lot, but lots of landscape border to trim around. It used to take 2 full charges of a NiCad 18 volt B&D weed eater I had to trim; the C3 lithium does it on one battery. I ran the blower last weekend cleaning leaves off of my roof, gutters, and sidewalk and still had battery live left after about 30 minutes of use (maybe more).

I can't compare the NiCad to the Lithium C3 batteries as I don't have any of the NiCads. Lithium seems to work pretty well for me thus far, but the NiCads seem to be on sale for $30 or less quite a bit, so I might pick one up just to see how it goes.

The 4 Ahr C3 XCP battery is on sale this week for $79.99. I just ordered one to power the C3 leaf blower, which is a serious power hog.
