Craftsman cabinet saw

I've found what looks like an old Craftsman cabinet saw. It supposedly cuts well though and hope someone can give me feedback on it.

ericols great saw! In a few minutes someone will chime in that it's not a real "cabinet saw" (it isn't) you can ignore them. These are awesome. The square table wings on the right are the originals and someone added a third on the left (happens a lot people want a bigger table). The saw looks to be in great shape, you have some sawdust to clean off. How does it run? Are you going to clean it and use it as is or take it apart? I have a full breakdown of photos if you go that route.
These are great saws and very cool to look at. Congrats. Here's mine.

Fock around ain't that the truth? You must live near Spokane Washington even though it says Baton Rouge under your avatar! Around here all you see is total **** for top dollar. Then you read of people buying some totally restored gold mine saw for $70 at some yard sale what have you!! Just ain't right! A client of mine just ran over my saw and killed it!

They are called 'hybrid saws'. Outboard motor with a full height base, or cabinet.

Those are beautiful saw's. It is worth at least $150 in it's condition. I wouldn't let it go for any less. If you paid less for it, you hit it big.

I have a friend that has one of those in his shop that he bought 30 years ago from a mill Wright who was retiring. He still uses it every day to make wood window sashes. Great saw.

I haven't bought it yet, it's listed for $350. Was hoping to get some feedback first. Is it a 10" saw, tilting arbor, single phase, and how much HP? Sounds like it's held up well for those who have it.

The HP is dependent upon the motor that is mounted - it looks like yours has the original 1hp CM motor.

I don't think complete ones are all that easy to find. That said . . .$350 is pricey in my opinion. Depends on how much you want it vs. what its "worth". I paid $200 for mine with motor but it needed to be completely cleaned up. I WANTED this saw . . . so I was ok paying a bit of a premium since I don't see them that often. I've spoken to some who are ok with the fence I don't like it and don't feel it's easy or accurate - so I will likely put an aftermarket fence on it. Also I've never seen a blade guard and I've been looking for YEARS. Take that into consideration. I put a Rockler splitter on mine because kickback terrifies me.

$750 for a PM66 is actually a pretty good deal, as they are great saws and even better than Unisaws. The 3 phase is a deal breaker however, so keep looking.

What part of the country are you in? It helps to know. Here in Chicago I can get 25 old machines cheap before my brother in Seattle ever sees one!

Not common here either but found this one at the Habitat ReStore. It's a 103.27270 with the 1 HP 115 V / 230 V single phase motor. Mostly unmolested original except for the "aftermarket" Craftsman Contractor Series Exact-I-Rip fence and an extra non-matching table extension. Even has the original belt guard which is reportedly often missing. Does not have the original blade guard which had been replaced by a later version. Also came with two dado blade sets, one of which looks like it has never been used. I paid $120 for the entire package. Felt like it was a good deal.

Three fiddy may be high for a Craftsman but if I had the cash and one came up in decent condition, I would pay that. Would I rather have a Unisaw, yes but the chances of finding a Unisaw in that price range around here is not common.

Thanks for posting the blade guard picture. Had no idea what the original looked like. Just knew that the one on my saw was much later version. Filed the picture for future reference.

Jay: what mcm said. I've never even seen one outside of the catalog.
