I'm looking at this cabinet and hoping it goes on sale in the next month or so. Lowe's is currently running a Craftsman sale but of course this cabinet isn't part of it. I can't even find it on Sears website. My question is has anyone used it and how was it or if there is something else out there equivalent that is cheaper/same price that is better. This is just going into my personal garage to store car cleaning chemicals and what not so I don't need anything professional grade/etc.

Thanks!

I can't post a link to it because I don't have enough posts but this is what it's listed as on Lowe's website.

Item # 1022358 Model # CMST23201RB

i have this at home. it servies its purpose fine as a storage cabinet, and i mostly store automotive fluids and chemicals in it also. mine had some issues with bent panels and a couple scratches that I had to take care of before assembly but once that was all done it was fine. actually i think almost every panel was bent in some way, and i picked it up from the store. but it serves its purpose fine, and looks fine. i've had it for about 2 years now and had two spills inside (both very small leaks of some kind of oil) with no issue with cleanup and having it look good as new after.

I have two of the older (pre-SBD Craftsman) versions of those that I use all the time. As BiggetyBen noted, it's almost impossible to get one of these without some panel damage, and that's been true for years.

Dunno why they can't or won't improve the packaging. Sometimes the damage inside doesn't even show from outside. I knew of the risk of bent panels when I got mine, so I double-triple checked the packages. One of them still had damage inside that I missed from my outside inspection.

They're solid enough, but not anything I'd consider industrial quality. The doors on mine swing and latch well, which is a good thing. They come with three shelves, so with the floor that's four levels. I would have liked five. As it is, my spacing is kind of odd between the two of them.

Would I buy another? Possibly. I've thought about adding a third. It's a big improvement, IMO, to have things stored behind doors to prevent dust buildup, minimize handling damage to contents, and to lock them for security. There are some heavier cabinets that would make a better choice if one's budget can take it.

Here they are in my garage a few years ago.
