Thanks for the tip wvrailroader! Used the Sears local webpage and sure enough they had one left. The 20% coupon 9817279705851049 worked on it as well. We shall see if my order actually goes thru or they say they can't find it.

there's $10 in instant surprise points on $20 in tools as well to use, but I put one in my cart and only one around is 60 miles away :( bummer...

I have a pair, and can never seem to get them to work worth a darn. And they pop off the clamp when I squeeze hard. I have better luck with a long pair of needle nose pliers.

But they do have excellent ratings. The ones I have are made in France.

It looks like they are moving to this version made in Taiwan, and discontinuing the made in France model. (added to the website on October 26, 2015).

So it looks like if you want the old model, better jump on it while you can.

I talked to a Sears tool department employee yesterday and he said that all of the Taiwan stuff that replaced things like these pliers is basically rebranded Gearwrench. He said they are all shipped in boxes that are marked Apex Group.

Yea all the old auto stuff sears had in my store was clearanced out and all the new stuff I have seen is China. They even change the pro pick set thing that was around 29.99 to China now too.

One day kids will have Made in China on them when they are born.
