Can any of you guys that have had the Craftsman Chrome/Black Vinyl Hydraulic Stool for a while comment on it?

Sears is on the last day of a sale and with coupon's and sales tax included I can get one for $44.26 out the door. I just don't want to waste money is all and from past thread searching looks like a lot of you guys bought them at one time or another and should have some mileage on them by now and comments if junk or okay to buy.

I have had that same one for at least 4 years with now issues. My son uses it now in the basement when friends come over to play play station, they are 13 year old boys. It has held up to 2 years of that and is still fine

I have had the exact same one in my basement for 5 years now.

The things I like are the seat adjusts up and down. The back rest adjusts a few inches up, down and forward and backward. It swivels 360 degrees, and it can be adjusted to make working at any bench easier. And the feet can be adjusted to "level" the stool. This is great for a concrete floor that is not very flat, like my basement.

The things I don't like are there is hardly any cushioning to the seat bottom so if I sit for a long time I can feel the chrome metal rim of the seat starting to dig into the underside of my thigh. Also because the seat back and bottom are made of vinyl it can get a bit "sweaty" on my back and *** in warm/hot weather.

But those two "cons" if you will are not enough to make me not want it, or to even buy another one. I like the seat for what it is. A place to park my fat *** down instead of standing up when I am working on a project in my basement!

I've had one for a couple years, still works, no complaints. My wife honestly uses it way more than I do when she hangs out in the garage with me. Don't worry too much if you don't catch it on this sale, they always (well, for the past few years at least) have them on a Black Friday sale for $50.

They're worth their cost. Nothing special. Functional and strong enough. Agreed that they're a little skimpy on the seat cushioning.

I don't sit that often or long in my shop -- maybe just when on the computer or reading a manual. As such, it's fine. Beats paying a lot for a high end stool that I won't use much.

Mine's been in my garage for at least 5 years. No problems, but I don't like the square foot rest. Round is better for me. The square one is too close to the legs and my bad leg can't bend tight enough to allow me to put my foot on it.

I bought one several years ago and liked it enough that I bought another for the other side of the garage. For $44, I don't think you can go wrong and what other stool can you buy for the money.

I've had one for 5 or 6 years...no issues. In fact I bought another one a while ago with some points I had to burn, and this reminded me that I still need to put it together.

Had it sitting at my reloading bench for about 2 years.

Padding leaves a lot to be desired n if you are going to sit for more then 10 minutes.

And my chrome rusted in the dry basement.

I've got two, had them about 5 years now. They are actually in the kitchen and not in the shop now because - so far - they are the only high stools that seem to go with the granite counter top/cabinet colors and layout.
