Hello all,
I saw this in a thrift store and picked it up thinking I'd figure out what it was once I got home, but Google searching isn't turning anything up. What is this tool for? Adjusting teeth if a blade got bound up and twisted?

Resetting the “set” in the teeth after sharpening. Making sure each protrudes the same amount side to side for an even cut, defining the kerf, or width of cut.

There was another one posted here a while back. Not sure I would trust myself to do that well on something spinning at 6500;RPM.

I agree. But once you got good at it, people would come from miles away years ago.

Yup, my guy (carbide shop) was a pro, found another "pro" I had sent the blade to had left my blade out by .004 in two axis, and thus it was not giving the same quality cut I had before. A few years later he was gone. ☹️

Are you talking about modern carbide blades? Set is done by grinding the side the carbide brazed inserts themselves, not bending teeth as it with the above shown jig that is to be used with HSS saw blades only.

Who uses HSS saw blades on circular saws today?

Well aware. Just pointing out how critical the work needs to be to get a good finish from the blade.

My guy was kinda pissed when he found out who fouled it up in the first place, a big name retail biz doing **** work.
