Craftsman circular saw worth?

I got this saw on Saturday for $1, it works and I have no use for it now so I think I might sell it. I did some looking and it looks like its worth $45 to $60 but what do you guys think?

I have some of them and they are oldies, but I don't think they are worth a whole lot. Looks like the cord was repaired on that one??

Most are "315" model prefix (Ryobi made for Sears) units.

Come on, a working circular saw for $5? I'd say it's worth at least $20-$25. Even an el cheapo new unit made in China is going to be $40.

Old, common circular saws are a dime a dozen. Almost every garage sale has one, most can be bought for under $10. I've bought a few for under $5, if they have a good $30+ blade on them. Gave the saw away.

I've got the current model Milwaukee corded circular saw, I paid $15 for it used in the blow-molded case. JMO, but I'd be happy if I was selling that Cman and got $10 for it. Not sure why, but common corded carpentry tools don't really bring much on the used market.

+1 that resale will be between $5 and $15 tops. Was at SearsOutlet yesterday and Sears Evolve 12 amp circular saw was $23 brand new.

Consider that $5 is 400% profit for the OP and $10 is 900% profit !!

Lol put it on Craig's list for 60 and you will fit in with all the uneducated/dreamers selling there way over priced junk.

With that cord its not worth much more than u paid

That looks like a Craftsman 315.27802, 2.0 HP. 12 AMPS, 7" circular saw from the late 60s. Although it's advertised as a 7" saw, it will take a 7 1/4" blade.

This saw featured a detachable wrap-around sub-base for flush cutting. That part is missing from your saw.

I bought one of these last year for $10. Of course, the one I got is in very fine condition and complete. I use it most of the time instead of my newer circular saw. It works great.

Quite frankly, while I paid a "premium" price for my saw, you couldn't give me the one you have. Sorry.

I have paid a lot more for saws on Cl but one was a classic that I waited for years to find and the other saw was a vintage 1970's not a classic but almost new.

I have an old Cman saw similar to yours (and a drill) and I considered putting them up on a shelf like garage art.

Got one just like out in the barn, along with the box it came in. I think the box was repainted IIRC. I'm sure I didn't give very much for it tho.

I payed $5.00 for a Miller's Falls saw at Habitat for Humanity. Then another $5.00 for a blade. Also got a Makita circular saw for $10.00. Regards Barry
