It seamed like just yesterday Lowes cleared out a bunch of Kobalt tools to make room for Craftsman. So anyone seen what is going to fill that space yet? Seems like socket sets are coming in now made in Taiwan. I seen a.new bit socket set made in Taiwan. It doesn't come with the holder like the China made one did. So are they going to downsize Craftsman and even out the Kobalt to Craftsman tool selection? Or are they just going to replace the closeout stuff with new replacement. Because right now it looks totally bare

It's been my impression lately that Kobalt (also an import brand from what I see) is gaining a better following than Craftsman as a result of the recent and sharp decline of the Sears/Craftsman line. I still have a Sears (not for long though) and you can't even find an American made socket any longer - all Chinese. I guess Lowes thinks the Craftsman name will survive off the old reputation of being decent tools. I don't buy Craftsman any more unless it's older stuff from a flea market. I did just buy a handful of Huskey impact sockets from Home Depot because I didn't want to pay four times the amount for a better brand. I don't use them every day. They seem pretty solid.

All of My Lowe’s was always stocked fully with Kobalt back in the day now they have a little section for Kobalt and the rest all Craftsman and it makes me sick I love Kobalt tools they are great and I have a lot of friends who like them also I buy their stuff when I can yes it is Taiwan but back in the early 2000s it was USA made by Williams. I don’t like any of the SBD Craftsman I have split some of those but never did the old ones so now I am worried they are going to discontinue the Kobalt line as all the stuff is on sale at mine too.
