Seems like price is a good reason. My Nextec Craftsman stuff isn't as good as Bosch but it was really cheap when I bought it so I'm not unhappy.

Check the prices people are getting for the 12 volt Nextec Craftsman stuff on ebay! And I am not talking about the wishful thinkers who think the things are made of gold. I am talking about what people are actually paying for them.

You can sell off your Nextec items for 5 to 6 times the amount you paid for them when new. It is insane!

I have a very large collection of the C3 tools from Craftsman that I started buying back in 1999. You can still get new batteries for them off of ebay if you want to keep the collection going. If you search this website there is code you can get to take some money off of new Lion batteries from an ebay seller that posts here.

I started buying some Ryobi cordless items recently, such as one of their 18V cordless blowers and the cordless brad gun. I wanted the Craftsman versions of these items, but the prices are thru the roof for the C3 tools now.

I could have bought those two Craftsman C3 items on ebay, but all the people selling them wanted more than 3x the price of the brand new Ryobi versions. So even though it is a different battery format than the Craftsman items, I was able to get the two tools I wanted for way less, and now since they both came with Rhobi batteries and chargers, I can now buy the Ryobi cordless stuff as needed.

I know. I sold the right angle impact driver for more than I paid for the whole set! I was enough to upgrade to a Rigid 18V drill+driver set for free... and now I do miss that right angle driver from time to time.
