Craftsman Clearance Rack

Sears has a lot of individual sockets on the clearance rack. .96 for the 1/4" drive, 1.96 - 2.96 for 1/2" & 3/8" drive and crows feet for $4. I was able to pick up on some missing sockets and add a few larger ones like a 9/16" 1/4" drive short & long, and some huge 3/8" drive, some huge 1/2" drive metric; 20, 22, 24 & 28, and added a few missing crows feet. Also they have individual chrome stubby wrenches on clearance but all that was left were the metric. No impact sockets were available.

They've been doing the same thing out here in CT. They are clearing out the old sockets as all of the new ones will be laser etched.

I love the ethced style plus if you can buy the old ones for cheap and they will replace them with the new style...

On another note... the full polish stubby wrenches that they are clearancing are only the metrics in my area. Too bad... I really needed a 7/8"

I prefer my laser-etched set to my old stamped set. The laser-etched ones are much easier to read at a glance.

That's why you need calibrated fingertips. Just stick your finger in the toolbox, plop it into the sockets, and come out with the right one.

The accuracy decreases with sizes smaller than 3/8" or larger than 1", though.

I can't get much torque on a stubby 7/8"...but if you can, you're awesome!

Now don't give me too much credit here... I don't have a 7/8" stubby yet. It would primarily be used for attacking o2 sensors...

If your finger worked kind of like a stylus, it could measure any size just by running it around the rim of the socket.
