Went today... I know its late in the sale but the big sears is out of the way. So I got a few items... Went mainly for the pry bars, turns out they didnt have them (howd I guess) so I got a raincheck. Picked up a 1/2 pro wrench and a 15/16 socket and a pair of pliers... all of which I needed to add to the track box for the new kart, and I impulsed and got the mag mat they are selling. They had it out on display and I was really impressed with it. It holds ALOT!! made in china :-( but what isnt these days

Dad needed a sump pump... went to home depot and we were both AMAZED that the one they were selling was actually made in USA... quite a big deal for home depot (made by flowtech, tested it out and damn its quiet... well built too)

Didnt get the pro ratchet, I think im going to fork up the extra 15$ and get the proto from MSC... just to be different.

So what's the verdict on those new slim-line ergo Professional ratchets? Do they work as good as they look? i was playing with one, and it felt better in my hand than any other wrench i've tried, but there are so many things i need more than another socket wrench right now...

This is freakin' unbelieveable....

Well, I told you all about how I called in to the Craftsman Club phone number to complain about not receiving the flyers and such and the person on the other end told me he was going to send me a calendar with "coupons"...

Well....

I never got a calendar, but I did receive a whopping $5 off coupon in the mail the other day for any purchase of $25 or more...

... only problem is it expired on 12/31/05. Oops! I guess they found these hidden under a bunch of unmailed flyers or something and decided to unload them.

"Your satisfaction is what the Craftsman Club is all about..." so the coupon says.

I Got My Flyer!!!

I finally got one in the mail!

I'm going to probably get the 9 piece full polished long combo wrench set...$39.99...$20 off

and the 14 piece chisel/punch/etc set...$19.99...$10 off.

and maybe one of those tool bags for $7.49 to keep all my trunk tools in one place.

Prybars are still on sale!

Unless someone beats me to it, I'll scan it tomorrow at work.

2 notes:

- The link on the flyer does not work (www.sears.com/febcraftsman).

- Are the Craftsman polished wrenched they list the Professional set? It doesn't say Professional, but I remember before they were labeled as Professional wrenches?

BMW: I believe they are the pro wrenches, af far as I know the pros are the only fully polished Craftsman offers. The set they offer and call the "pro set" is 13 pc, 1/4 to 1" or 7 to 19mm. The set in the latest flyer has less wrenches, is missing a few of the larger ones, but they are the same wrenches. Interestingly enough, the large tool catalog (181 pg yearly catalog) does not list the 9 pc. set.

I don't know. I don't trust Craftsman. Nowhere, either on the website or flyer does it specifically say these are Pro wrenches.

BMW- thanks for posting this. Yes, the polished wrenches are the same as the Cman pro. They just skip sizes with the 9-piece set (actually, I am willing to bet that these 9 piece sets are just leftovers from Xmas). Oh, and you will pay through the nose to "fill in the blanks" on that 9 piece set. The full polish open stock cost a few pennies!

Now, if I could just find something in the flyer that I actually need. Note to Sears: most of use don't need anymore tool sets! We need individual items and consumables. And I am always a sucker for a ratchet. Or how 'bout those flex head sockets? Come on... throw us a bone! :wtf:

I agree the Craftsman Club Flyers have pretty much gone down hill since around the same time that they discontinued the 10% off all Craftsman tools during the CC Days. Looking through this flyer I don't see a single item that I could even remotely need.

Either they are gearing these flyers towards people just starting out that don't have any tools or maybe I have finally aquired all the tools I will ever need.

I do want to thank BMWpower for taking the time to post the flyer.

1/2 and 30% off doesn't mean anything when you don't need what's on sale. If it's not in the flyer you save 0% i'd gladly take 10% over nothing

10% of everything (like before) would be nice since you could get some sort of deal on any hand tool. To have specific sales on only certain things ***** if you don't need it. I don't have everything I need, so it works for me. Not to mention I have a tool addiction too, so multiple sets of wrenches is okay for me.

I didn't say it ***** I said that it has been going downhill and of course that is only my opinion. My current Craftman Club Membership Card says that I have been a member since 1996. I believe I have been a member longer than that, but I had to get a different card somewhere along the line. Either way, I have seen my share of CC sale flyers over the years. I have gotten some great bargains along the way, but it doesn't look like I will be seeing many more. I just looked through the flyer again and I still don't see anything I could justify buying. That is saying a lot because I don't need much justification at all to buy a new tool. A lot of the stuff in this flyer was in the very last flyer. Years ago the flyer was mostly tools and at certain times of the year they would have a loose page or two of lawn and garden stuff. This flyer is chock full of lawn and garden stuff.

also, this week, you get 10% off bench power tools...

I have a lot of Craftsman hand tools and I have used them to make my living with for the last 16 years. I'm not an auto mechanic like a lot of people on this site so I don't need the higher priced Snap-On or Mac Tools, the Craftsman hand tools work just fine for me. I also work alone so it is easier for me take care of my tools than a lot of other guys. I can only think of one Craftsman power tool that I own and that is a 8" bench grinder. I don't like their power tools, but I am not going to hack on people who do buy them and like them. They are just not for me thats all, so the 10% off all bench and stationary power tools does nothing for me. Besides if they still let us have 10% off all Craftsman tools during CC Days then that would include the stationary and bench power tools anyway.

They gave me 10% off for no reason at all when I went to get my prybars... I got them for about 15 when the should have been like 19... (40$ original @10%= 4$ off)

how sweet is that?

Just to get this thread back on track, I got my flyer today also. Really nothing that I really need or want this time around, so I'll probably pass. However, I did get sold real quick on the usefulness of those canvas tool bags. I picked one up a year ago and man, they are great for just throwing stuff like extra tools and parts into and then tossing them into the car. Don't have to reorganize my tool box to cram tools that I usually don't carry in the tool box. Might have to pickup the two-pack for $7.49 and give my wife the small one. And a swivel screwdriver set. Hmmm... :headscrat

See, in the amount of time that it took me to type this I managed to possibly justify two purchases. Man, I gotta stop gorging on chocolate so close to bedtime. :rocker:

FNG here. Tool addict as well  I agree that the Craftsman Club has gone down hill. One other note. Anyone here notice that when Sears has sales on their higher priced roll away cabinets, they seem to always be out of stock. About a few days after the sale, you finally get an email from the Craftsman Club, saying that your item is in (when the sale is over) :wtf:
