...Got the sockets that I needed to complete my 1/4 dr set today. While I was there I got a 20" - 3/8 dr extension also.

There was one 3 pc. socket cap set left hanging on the board. The 1/2 inch was missing so I got 20% off + 50% off for the Craftsman club.

total of $ 26.72 with tax:thumbup:

I got some of the 5 piece double box end ratcheting wrenches. On sale for $20 (regular $40) but after my Club car was scanned, it was $15 so I got two sets.

My Hometown store has some loose (open) hex, torx and nut drivers for $1.99 a piece. Again, it scanned for $0.99 after the Club card. Sizes are limited but the Hex goes all the way to 10 mm.

Awright, I'll put on my ignoramus hat and ask the question: What does one do with a socket cap?

It goes in the drive end of the socket and has a hex head so you can use an open or box end wrench on the socket when a ratchet won't fit. I've had them forever and have only used them twice. Both times though, they were the only thing that got me out of a bind.

I see. I knew there was something I couldn't do without, I just didn't know what it was.

If the 1/2" drive socket cap was missing, you should have gotten at least 33% off, probably more.

I had forgotten about those - I just ordered the set and got 10% off the online order also. $5.22 ain't bad for those.

I have the GearWrench set, but those are a bit longer than the C-man because they have the quick release feature. They actually are not an advantage over a thin profile ratchet.

I got a bunch of 50% off open stock items, from online last night, most of it to replace more "high end" tools I sold, so I have to fill in my Craftsman sets.

I will give the socket caps high marks. They and the Gearwrenches can be quite the combo. I bought them years ago, and only used them once. I pulled them out one day at the shop, when they were in a tight spot, and they asked me to leave them (still have a bunch of specialty tools there). They have helped them out several times (and yes, I still drop in and help out occasionally).

Is the C-club 50% off open stock sockets still going on?

Well, I ordered the Cman socket capset earlier this afternoon for store pickup and it turned into a fiasco and waste of time.

Got the email "ready to pickup"; at the pickup station, they said I needed to see the tool dept manager....:wtf:

He said they showed one set in stock, but could not find it. He mentioned shoplifters are having a field day at the store and might be the cause of problem.

Anyway, took 30 minutes to get my CC creditedc for the item.

As a side note, saw two shoplifters being arrested at the mall:thumbup:

Did anybody else get the additional 10% of at checkout? That made sockets and wrenches 60% off.

Yup...

Dad called me yesterday, as he had to swing into Sears and pick up 4-5 items. We ordered it online via my account, and the sockets he purchased got the 50% off Club sale, and another 10% off that for whatever gig they were running yesterday.

He also got a 5pc set of easy outs - not on Club sale, but they were 50% off from another sale, and he got 10% off those, too.

Amazingly, everything was in the store for pickup. :wtf:

Yeah, I got the extra 10% off yesterday on most, but not all, of my items. I believe it first took the 10% off, then the 50%, leaving you an extra 5% off in the end (paying 45% of the original price).

My discounts were all over the place. Three items purchased, three different discounts. After I get the tools, I'll try and get the amounts straightened out.

I purchased some sockets to finish off my 3/8" drive deep set and they rang up right as 50% off yesterday. Purchased the vice grips and they rang up perfectly to.

I bought the 4-piece spark plug socket set, individually of course. Something I've been looking at for a while, I only ever need the 5/8 one, but my two are getting old, so I figured for 10 bucks total, I'd buy the whole set. Not a bad deal. I would have bought more if the money was available.
