I think we can all agree that Craftsman Club is not what it once was, but there are still deals to be had. Anyone been through the ones from this month? I didn't see much in the way of discounts.

http://www.craftsman.com/craftsmanclubmemberdeals01/nb-100000000227045

There are a couple of table saws on decent discount, and that 4-drawer ball bearing chest isn't a terrible deal. Am I missing anything else?

All the prices I'm seeing are way higher than regular holiday pricing. I think they could do a little better than $5 off a $50 item.

Agreed. There used to be at least a few items per Club session that would be discounted at 50% off. I don't see many in this flyer, with the above screw extractor being one of the exceptions.

The reason why you dont see any DEEP deals like you usually do is because of 3 reason
1. Its After christmas nobody has any money left to spend or has already bougth everyone something
2. We are out of stock on ALOT of things and throwing a big discount on those things would just make it harder to get them back in stock
3. alot of stuff in the CC sale is on clearance or they are phasing them out to make way for a new product ( anything ending in .88 )

Wait til Family and Friends thats when I do all my shopping ^_^ I get 10% + 10% off the sale price

I've been spending quite a bit on USA Cman lately while still available. I've also been a Cman club member since 2009 and I've never bought anything through the club. I think I've received a total of two flyers in the mail over the four year period with nothing too special inside to write home about. Maybe I've just checked at the wrong times, but the times that I've checked the club site, the deals seemed to be the same as the reg Sears site and so I lost interest early on. If I recall correctly, it seems there was supposed to be a club points earnings program, but reg Sears has the SYWR program on anything purchased from Sears, not just Craftsman. If I'm missing something or I'm not going about this membership thing correctly, please chime in and correct me.

Edit: I'm guessing that the club points program is now just the SYWR program, or maybe always was. I just don't keep up with the club anymore to know what's going on with it.

I bought a jack and 2 jacks stands for 9.99 a month ago. Even the girlfriend was ok with it, you know it is a deal then.

Wasn't that the deal where it was actually missed marked for a day or so and was only supposed to be the jack stands by themselves for that price?

Just picked up this upper 6 drawer box for $113 OTD. Normal price is listed at $159. I joined Craftsman club and they sent me a 10% coupon so I used that on top of the $114.99 club price. I've had my eye on it for a while, I haven't seen a better price then that, unless I missed it. Tried buying it on their website for 2 days but it wouldn't add to my cart. So I printed of the listing and the coupon and went to my local Sears Hardware and had no problems getting the price.

That's a nice piece for that money. My favorite style, too, with the three small drawers in the top row.

Good buy!

The C3 drill with lithium battery is a good deal for around $60.

I bought the impact wrench and wanted to upgrade to a lithium battery. By the time you price out a battery and charger, it was just as much. So a month ago I bought the drill kit for a similar price. I wanted a second drill anyway. The lithium batter is a huge upgrade over the NiCd!

That 6 drawer top box was $99.99 January 7, 2012 before any discounts or tax when I bought it.

I bought that, the 4 drawer base cabinet, and 3 drawer middle units for ~$298 after taxes and discounts when I got it. In hindsight I could have managed it for $288 but I botched some coupon codes at the time.

Very pleased with the stack for the price and haven't seen prices near that since.

Are you guys still getting the fliers in the mail? Seems like I get one about once every 3 months or less lately. They really have dropped the ball on that, used to be some real good deals that got me into the store to spend money.

I guess I missed that one, or wasn't really looking back then. I'm at $315 for both pieces, not to bad.

i guess that's part of the problem isn't it? no one sees Sears/Craftsman stuff worth buying unless it's like 40-70% off. their margins must be pretty slim when sold at deep discounts so I don't think we can always blame them for outsourcing to China or elsewhere.

Honestly I don't believe that Sears margins are that thin. Plus, if you are going to create a "club" that is meant to be exclusive and keep people loyal, this pricing strategy only serves to alienate.

I worked freight crew for Sears for a little while last year, and when we scanned items, it listed their cost and the price being sold for. On average they bought stuff for about 1/3 of what they sell it for, so even at 50% off, they were making a decent profit.

Received my "annual" Cman Club flyer in the mail today! Not much to write home about unless you're a fan of their garden tools or work clothes. Curious to see what next years edition will contain?

Been a member for 2 years and have never got a flier in the mail.

I haven't gotten flyer in the mail in about 10 years (have called and sent email numberous times and frankly no longer worth the hassle and waste of my time). And for some reason I have trouble looking at the Club Saver deals online regardless if I use Internet Explorer, FireFox or Chrome. The craftsman websites is always problemtatic for me. I used to be able to look at the flyers online when they were PDF format.

I've never understood why they keep the deals a secret on the web site until the very second they are active (the Craftsman club site I mean). What's the big secret? They send them out to people (lol the lucky few who actually get them) days in advance, so why can't you look at them online several days before?

Sears claims they email them too, but I've never gotten that way either. They have one messed up computer system.

Do they spam your email inbox? I'm just curious because I'm thinking about signing up. After reading this thread, it almost sounds like they don't send you anything, in any format. I work in IT, and I agree that their website appears to be a big mess.

I very rarely get an email from them.

Cases of the vanishing magnetic ink (cont)

Sears has had all sorts of deals/clubs/sign up for this... sign up for that promo over the years.... ok then.... over the decades.

Communications from Sears/Craftsman?
No snail mail, very little to no email.
The store clerks (bless their lil hearts!! *L*) usually can't find any record after a coupla months either because the promo's been superceeded by a new/improved promo or the magnetic ink recording the original sign up has faded away!!

I've lost count of how many times I've signed up for a 'Craftsman Club'.
Even w/the latest and greatest club member/ID no. and phone no. (no-my phone nos./addys have not changed that often over time) the song remains the same....

Craftsman Club deals for April 7 thru 13: LINK TO FLYER

Well, looks like there is plenty of quantity if not quality. Anyone ever bought a lawn tractor with the club saver discount? Some of those deals look pretty good...

There is "wholesale", "retail" and covering "overhead" before making a "profit".

While their retail sales price even with a deep discount maybe above what they paid in wholesale costs to get the product, it is no indicator of them covering their overhead costs with anything leftover to call a "profit".

Joined the Craftsman club and the trial free shipping thing plus get the "points" thing for purchases. Only thing is, it takes a major effort for me to get all those benefits working together on a purchase. For that reason, I have only made one purchase this year and am no longer paying any attention to them except on this forum.

Ratchets US Made?

Yes, ratchets and every piece in case is marked US.
All sockets are 6 point.
I automatically was signed up for the Shop My Way rewards so every time I check out lately with an over $50 purchase I have just over $5 in points to redeem so it comes in just under $55.
Sale ends today the 13th though.
They have a 2 day sale going on that also ends today that has a 220 piece for $99. I saw at least one with the box marked Made in USA, other boxes were marked US & Taiwan. The 220 set has the 3 ratchet sizes but only 3 inch extensions and a bunch of the sockets are 12 point.
Also a lot more small stuff like bits taking up the box count. I think the 118 is a much better deal.

All of the "Club" prices are the same as the normal in-store sale prices. :dunno:

Seems that way. Anymore though, the Craftsman Club sale stuff does not seem to be discounted as heavily in years past when it was and actual "Club" and not tied to their SYWR system.
